  • thanks so much(:

  • That's a nice explosion.

  • do you know if this works on sony vegas movie studio hd 11? (regular, not platinum)

  • @OxBigly2010 This works on all versions of Sony Vegas and Movie Studio.

  • Is there any other way to get explosions, like a software or something?

  • Thanks alot! I have been trying to figure this out forever! Finally I can have awesome effects!

  • only one small problem i'm having...i didn't use explosions or any others just yet, but I tried this effect with rain but 2 problems occured.

1 - It seemed to slow up my video for the amount of time the effect was on.

[could probably just the program rendering perhaps]

    2- It silences my video.

  • @wacfilms Adding video effects are CPU and Ram intensive. If your computer is running low on memory or doesn't have a multi-core processor, it can cause the preview display to slow and renders will take more time.

Adding a video overlay has no effect on the audio track.

  • can u rotate the effect like make it upside down?

  • @gameplayer435 Yes, you can rotate, invert, reverse, speed up, slow down, or pan & zoom the effect.

  • @guerillabill ok thx

  • I can't import .mov files

  • @R4G3QU1TT Blame it on the version of quicktime you have in your computer. I find the older versions of quicktime work much better than the newer ones. Quicktime 7.3.1.70 seems to work best. Find it at olderversion com

  • @guerillabill Thanks alot, I love you're videos and u reply to every fan! It's working now! THANKS ALOT!

  • @R4G3QU1TT

Download Windows Movie Maker, open the video in Movie Maker, export it to WMV and you're good to go.

  • Help me please, I've downloaded alot of explosions from that website, and all of them have a black border on the left and right side and i can't get rid of them. second, alot of files won't open or play in vegas because quicktime isn't installed, but I did install it and it still wont work

  • lol....u sound like bill clinton...

  • thx this helps me out alot

  • Nice video. Helped meh!

  • good

  • @mouthforwar93 Yes, they have at least 20 free clips. To find them, go to their site, click the 'effects stock footage' link, and then look for the word 'free' next to the descriptions.

  • how do you upload youtube videos on tosony vegas?

  • dude thank you for the add-vice im so thank full nice video im doing anime lol

  • what are the specs of your pc?

  • @winfr34k Dell Studio XPS 8100 with Intel i7-870 processor. Windows 7 64bit, 12 Gig of Ram. nvidia video card with 1024meg of Ram.

  • @guerillabill wow, sh*t! THIS MACHINE MUST BE KICK ASS O_o!

  • @winfr34k It is very fast, great for video editing. You can often find computers with these specs on sale at Dell for around $700.

  • @guerillabill wow cool! I really have to save up some money ^_^

I'm currently using a Core2Duo @ 2.00 GHz, 2GB RAM and an nvidia card with 512MB RAM xd xd

  • @winfr34k When I use the Chroma key, It just doesnt show the explosion, could you

    help please? thankyou

  • @xKeyToMyHeartx1 You can drag videos to a video track above the video you wish to overlay. Or you can use the 's' key to split a video and insert a new video clip at the split point.

  • 3:07 HEYYYYYY WATCH IT MISTER! *guy in video*

  • I don't know why, but my computer won't register Quicktime. Is there any other way to get the explosion???

  • You my friend are amazing. im so glad you make these videos, and they're very helpful. thanks man :) i subbed btw

  • @levimangrum Find a window crack image with a transparent background, and overlay it on the video tack above the main video. Sell the effect by adding sound effect.

  • I have tried to use the Chroma keyer on a detonations film video but unlike yours, my video background colr stays black. It doesn't change at all when I try to do it. Is my video in the wrong format maybe? Or is there something else I am missing? Thanks

  • @vistabarnett Try again, and be sure to put the chromakey effect on the video with the explosion. Then adjust the chromakey settings as shown in the above video.

  • thank you thank you thank you. You saved me from killing myself. I have been trying to figure this out forever, with no luck. I was wondering why I spent $120 for a program that could do as much as Windows Movie Maker could do.

  • I really appreciate your video it was a great help. Thanks again.

  • First time, that i found this Channel, very good, but one question:

I have an animate Figure for a video, but the animate Figure has more Background colors. What can i do to erase the Background? Chroma keyer don't work very good with more than 1 color. Can you help me, guerillabill?

Thanks a lot for the many videos,

    Bitroes

  • @Bitroes If the figure doesn't have a solid color background, you can't remove it with chromakey. If the figure is not animated, you could use the magic extractor in Photoshop Elements to remove the background.

If the figure is animated, you'd have to use a tool that had rotoscoping or masking to remove the background frame by frame. That would be a lot of work. Movie Studio does not have rotoscoping or point to point mapping.

  • Thank's Brother..

  • ok thanks you have helped me a lot

  • is this SONY Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 Production Suite and if it is not can you still do this. get back to me asap please

  • @CGPTVProductions You can do the above with any version of Sony Movie Studio on Sony Vegas Pro.

  • at 1:50 does the size of the box matter, and does it automatically remove the background? its kind of an obvious question, but i'm new to this piece of software

  • @TheGuyWithThatHair No the size of explosion box doesn't matter, you can resize it to fit your video. And the background is not automatically removed. You have do it as shown in the video above.

  • Great tutorial I downloaded the fireball explosion but I cant get the sound effect the explosion works just no the sound

  • @hwjohnb There's no sound on the explosion. You'll have to find an explosion sound effect and add it.

  • I have a problem. I have Vegas Pro 9. I did what you said to the other guy. Help~Sony on the web~updates. But it brought me to a page in which had the names of all of the "Vegas" types. I lclicked on Sony Vegas 10. And it said if I wanted to download it. It then said that it costs 467 pounds (Or something like that). How do I update my Sony Vegas Pro 9 without paying. Detonation filmz said it was a free software update. But I think I am only downloading a trial for a new software by Sony Vegas.

  • @StormTrooper305 In Vegas Pro, click about, click sony on the web, click updates, choose the Sony Vegas 9.0e update and download and install it.

  • @guerillabill It is currently downloading. But it seems like I am downloading a trial. Are you sure it is not a trial? That it is actually an update?

  • @StormTrooper305 If you have Vegas Pro 9 on your computer, the 9.0e update will install and use the same registration code as the installed version of Vegas Pro 9.

The update is the full program, so it will be a large file.

  • Great tut Bill, thanks for the time and effort amigo.

  • artbeats.com also has hd stock footage

  • Hey can anyone help me, i need to update my vegas pro 8 because the clips appeared blank, is there any directions on how to update my software?

  • @pilipinoyboy To see the latest update, click 'help' in Movie Studio, then click 'Sony on the Web'.

If you update the Movie Studio 10 HD, you'll see the blank video clip problems resolved

  • OMG THANK YOU SOOO MUCH

  • great video, as always. Thanks!

  • it is saying to do this but im not really following, how do i turn it to a movie file.

NOTE: ALL THE DOWNLOADS ARE ZIP FILES -- you need to download and double-click on them to extract them as .mov files.

VEGAS USERS! If your clips have suddenly gone blank, do a free Software Update on your Vegas software and reboot.

  • @chilakyle218

I can't find the Software Update on the Sony site. I link would be great.

  • not letting me import my downloads into vegas, it ssays that the files dont exist. Why might be wrong?

  • Many thanks Bill, you rule.

  • Awesome man, just subscribed about 1 week ago. Can you please make a video tutorial for how to make a youtube background channel? i know it's not in vegas it's photoshop, but that would be really helphul.

  • @GolzeD2009 I've posted a video on my site showing how to customize your YouTube channel, change backgrounds, include logos, and product links. Find it at bmyers com

  • thanks so much! :)
