I made my own version of this score for SAB (+ optional percussion). I made a few adjustments and corrections to get as close to the original computer melody as possible (which has 3 voices). I also added "Mario is hit" and the game over melody as a coda. It's my experience that this piece is not easy to play. :-) The rithms are pretty hard and you do need to be comfortable with some high notes as well. If anyone is interested in the score, just send me a message.
No there are various type of recorders (soprano, descant =soprano, tenor and alto). Let alone bass recorders, as enormous as a bus...Beginners generally choose plastic soprano recorders, the range of which is 2 octaves. New recorders (harmonic recorders) are very expensive and now covers fully 3 octaves, competing with the flute.
If reading notes is a problem, I suggest buying a method with your recorder, something like recorder for beginners. Good way to learn music and beats.
So, does anyone know where I might find this score? I failed to find it. :-( I just hope I don't need to copy the score from the video. But if that is what it will take, I'll do it.
Omg this might be my fist song

Hey, you should end it with the game-over tune. Or, the end level fanfare. :)
