i played this game at all maxed 1440x900 (2x AA) and it was easily playable on my 9600gt. anything above should never have any kind of problem with this game

Not bad, but you can push your card further. I'm using an XFX 9800 GTX+, and with a quick-and-dirty overclock, I got 800 MHz core/1260 MHz Memory/1982 MHz shader, and doesn't go over 50C with fan at 60%.

Look on my channel and look at my videos, I have gameplay on how both of those games run and a few other games too. Also, the 9800 GTX+ isn't the best on the market but is pretty decent for the price. The best on the market right now is the GTX 295.

Huh, well I play W@W at 95-100fps normally @ 1680 x 1050 very high all aa and anisotropic filtering - when recording to main drive i get 35fps but to secondary 50-55fps. Idk whats going on?

Maybe its your motherboard (and check your SATA drives are set to SATA-300 not SATA-150). There are jumpers.
