None of you knew Carter or his family. His brother was the pitbull owner and the one being subdued in the video. They weren't wannabe gangsters or fighting their animals. The two pit bulls territorially attacked his mother's dog and Carter tried to break it up and got accidentally bit on the neck during the incident and bled to death. This was my friend. RIP Carter. A friend of mine had to put her Pit Bull down because it mauled an 8 yr old. This breed is NO good and if Pit Bull owners tell you "Oh he won't bite" --- bullshit. I have a neighbor right now who keeps letting his Pit Bull loose on my yard. In our town, we have no leash law. The police told me plain and simple, "Do what you gotta do to protect yourself" - even advised me to throw a few 'meatballs' on the lawn. I wouldn't do that, but even cops are frightened of them.

If you do some research you will find that people such as former presidents owned pitbulls, so just wondering if they are trash to and should be in jail. About 3 weeks ago, a shorty JRT that I rehomed with a lovely couple was killed by a pit bull. I'd like to see some stats on the number of people and other animals killed by this breed every year. I'd be willing to bet that the numbers are staggering. I no longer think it can be blamed on breeders or bad owners. That would suggest that an awful lot of these owners are bad. I now believe that these dogs have been bred for violence for so long that they are not safe to live in our communities.

@9murphy5 for the second time I didn't say kill them. I think it's good that some communities,cities , counties are banning them. Maybe it won't stop the problem but at least they are smart enough to see something needs done and are trying to save their kids and towns. Not sure what the answer is but get them away from people and they can't hurt people.
I think this is a breed that should be owned by a small amount of people who know how to raise and handle them. All dogs can go postal, but some breeds are capable of more damage. Breeding practices, the image of being tough and owning bully breeds even if you aren't ready to, backyard operations, human ineptitude - it all goes a long way in creating a dangerous animal.
The training you do mite not kill him. But it will cut down his life span 2 or 3 years. That's in case you care? about your dogs. I had a boxer pit bull cross. I train until he was about 5 years old. He was 105 Lbs dog when he died. I feel so guilty now that he's gone. The way I trained him and would show him off to people. Of how big and tough he was. Only because trained him to be like that. Interesting theory that all people who own pitbulls are trash and should be in jail. I am a 23 year old female and i own a pitbull who is a wonderful dog. If you do some research you will find that people such as former presidents owned pitbulls, so just wondering if they are trash to and should be in jail. You should do some reseach and maybe meet some pitbulls who are family dogs. I know a mini aussie that has bitten more kids than i can count most of them family. But no ban!

About 3 weeks ago, a shorty JRT that I rehomed with a lovely couple was killed by a pit bull. I'd like to see some stats on the number of people and other animals killed by this breed every year. I'd be willing to bet that the numbers are staggering. I no longer think it can be blamed on breeders or bad owners. That would suggest that an awful lot of these owners are bad. I now believe that these dogs have been bred for violence for so long that they are not safe to live in our communities.

Chihuahuas are awesome dogs,if I make Chihuahua mean ull have to have them put to sleep, Chihuahuas are r easy dog to make mean. We had a Chihuahua and my uncle made him mean and we had to put him to sleep . And we had him for two years . Now pits there just bread to fight and to attack its not how u raise them!! My friend two year old girl was attack by there pit!!!

ive seen a chow chow kill a woman in Puerto Rico, ive seen a German Shepperd attack a woman and almost killing her, ive seen a chihuahua sending a person to a hospital to get stitches on their face, but you dont see people dissing these dogs

i know Thomas(Carter's brother) & i knew Carter. Thomas was a criminal and is a piece of shit, he trained his dogs to be vicious to protect him and his stash, it's not the dogs faults, it's his brother's fault, because Thomas is a piece of shit and so are all of his friends. you reap what you sow, his whole life Thomas has been picking fights and treating people like shit, if you ask me he deserves this, and i hope he never forgives himself for this.

@willow7233 Just bear in mind espectially with an animal that has been abused are you physically capable of subduing it if the dog attacks you both now and when it gets older? Do you have small children who are too small to protect themselves if they get into where the dog is while your not around? I think the idea of rescuing an animal is noble, but there are reasons this breed has such a bad reputation. I don't think they're evil but precautions are neccesary wwwdogsbite org

I never thought my sisters pit would do that until he had her doberman in the air shaking him like a rag doll. But then again isn't that why we really have the breed so guys with small egos can feel like men? I can assure you there are really good pits out there that will never hurt anyone. If the 20 year old looked like his friends, how strong would the dogs have to be? How do these two young men know that their friend was trying to split up a fight between the two pits? Because they'd seen it before is all I come up with or they were on the phone with him. Poor family, friends and neighbors. Maybe it won't stop the problem but at least they are smart enough to see something needs done and are trying to save their kids and towns. If the kooks repeat the same thing with another breed you keep fighting back against the next breed. Just like in war you have to adjust. Not sure what the answer is but get them away from people and they can't hurt people.

I think this is a breed that should be owned by a small amount of people who know how to raise and handle them. All dogs can go postal, but some breeds are capable of more damage. Breeding practices, the image of being tough and owning bully breeds even if you aren't ready to, backyard operations, human ineptitude - it all goes a long way in creating a dangerous animal.

The training you do mite not kill him. But it will cut down his life span 2 or 3 years. That's in case you care? about your dogs. I had a boxer pit bull cross. I train until he was about 5 years old. He was 105 Lbs dog when he died. I feel so guilty now that he's gone. The way I trained him and would show him off to people. Of how big and tough he was. Only because trained him to be like that. He was a very loving dog. Who I trued into a Monster.

@WinterHaven There was a defendant on one of the court shows that had adopted a dog that the people knew had been agressive and attacked people. They had "rebilitated" it if I remember correctly and it still attacked a human. Why do people even take the chance? And the owner would not listen to the judge and was going to keep the dog even with small children in the house! It was obvious that she had to be right and that it! It was scary to see knowing she was gambling her children's lives.
