I may be an old decrepit man now, but I'm not sure this really is from 1971...I think some of these songs were from at least a few years later.
Of course, K-Tel compendium records like this usually had hits that were no longer at their peak of popularity anyway. I'm sure that's how they could license them in the first place, because they weren't selling so many copies anymore.
That looks like a primitive disco ball spinning. I thought disco balls didn't appear until 1974 or 75 or so! And this is definately from around the fall of 1971 based on the hits.
A Bunch of Can-Con Acts we have not heard in ages!

$3.99 in 1971 money was probably like what $40 bucks is nowadays. :3

Only thing I hated about those records was the fact the songs were cut way short so they could cram them all on there.

Now that I spent $3.99 on this record, I don't have enough left to buy any 8-tracks or 45's.

my project in electronics class in 1976 was a strobe light, so Im sure the disco ball was around at least 10 years before that

@pannoni1 "Disco" balls were popular in dance halls during the Roaring '20s.

Gotta love those old CanCon classics on the old (Canadian) K-tel's. A lot of them were never released on CD.
