So we've have all the largest airlines, the military, Monsanto, and chemical manufactures lobbing our crooked politicians and officials to vote for climate modification? Now they are kicking it in high gear. I reported over 3000ppm in 1989, Iit destroyed my crops, the fish, and wildlife, over 95% decrease in pheasant population. These people fully understand what is going on the ground that is what makes it intentional. Any normal person can gather this information
People get pissed off about money, but people could care less if they are spraying off of us with poison that will without a shadow of a doubt harm everything living in one way or the other. The land is dead with the independent farmers. I can't believe people just blow off the fact that Geoengineers want to dump over 80 million metric tons in atmosphere. That's just one "Test." They admit it, but we can't get people to give two shits about weaponized, but it's killing our environment...
Hey, I live in the Albany OR area myself......we should form a group of like minded people and discuss this crap periodically.......There's power in numbers!!!
Love all your videos of how bad things are in the Portland oregon area. The REAL unemployment rate here is 21-24% or more if you count all the people that have fallen off the roles. All the call centers are gone here and all have been leaving here to go to other states for lower wages and India for lower wages. As Oregon's mimimum wage keeps going up more and more companies will leave here to go to other states for lower wages. I have been out of work for over a year and need is very high4 svcs.
America is being taught an economic lesson that will bring much suffering to the people. For many years now, America has neglected employees, overall, not only in the form of minimum wages but also by out-sourcing jobs to third world countries. Approxinately 50 million Americans now live below poverty and that number is not going to decrease with the current level of new and future employment. Abuses by employers and industries has created an employment market of zero net gain.
Jobs in the factories and in the paper mills like the one that was profiled in the video in Oregon, have moved offshore because of corporate America's insatiable thirst and hunger for higher profit margins. International Paper, the company that runs that particular paper mill in Oregon, can just as easily replace American workers with workers in China who get paid 37 cents an hour. Like the guy said, those kinds places are going and they are never coming back.
Two Years Ago SAPPI FINE PAPER, "Shut down" their Muskegon Michigan mill "Short term" because of the "economy". SAPPI only bought the mill to get the rights to manufactor "High Gloss Paper". They put the mill up for sale with the condition that they could not produce that type of paper. Nobody bought the mill. Now after 100 years they are selling the mill piece meal. Ironically this was one of SAPPI's most productive plants. They begged for tax breaks which they recieved on the condition
Turn over the package of what you just bought. It most likely says "made in China". Next time turn it over before you buy it . Al this could change really fast if we quit buying from these people who use slaves. This is not fair trade it is unfair trade to the extreme. I am Canadain and we hardly see anything with made in U.S.A on it anymore. All we see in made in china and for the most part it is junk. It was better 20 years ago we got better products and both countries had enough jobs.
Wake up yes!!!!!! Stop watching Lady Gaga videos and eating junk food for a minute and wake up to the fact your great country is being sold away forever!!!
The enviroment has too many lawyers, labor taxes, property taxes,in effecient inspectors. The USA is simply not a good place for industry. We have our Government and Attitudes against industry.
Horsemanure! Companies move jobs offshore because they want the cheap labor plain and simple and not for any other reason. According to a GAO report most corporations in this country pay no taxes! So extreme taxation is not the reason for the jobs going overseas, but cheap labor, and virtually no environmental regulations in countries like China are. Pull your head out of Rupert Murdock and Fox's News rear-end and find out the truth for a change.
Unions getting $65 an hour? What bunch of crock! Never mind the fact that most of the union jobs left a long time ago when Ronald "Bust up the Unions Reagan got into office, only about 7% of the entire private sector workforce in this country is unionized. And most of the jobs being currently outsourced currently are white collar professional jobs and not union jobs. But suppose you tell us how any American worker can compete with Chinese workers that get paid 37cents an hour union labor or not?
@vbboyd You are not even american- How many 941 Reports have you filed? 940? 944? how many quaterly state employment reports have you filed? How about your Workers Comp mandated reports? YOUR the fool- IT IS ILEGAL TO HIRE PEOPLE IN THE USA find me one employer who has not paid a labor related fine in 3 months- FOX ? you think FOX represents AmeriA? yORU A FOOL FOX is who cut RON PAULS throat Yes countries go over seas because it is CHEEPER -cheeper because it is leagal.
@chineechik Freemarket economy my big fat you know what.! How do workers in this country compete with workers in China that get paid 37cents an hour? You call that a free market economy where there is no competition in the market place? Give me a break! What a joke! This is anything but free market economics.
It may look like a big mill, but it only employed 270 people and made the Albany stink. The company cites decline in demand for their "uncoated freesheet" for the closure of the plant, not environmental regulation. You are drawing false connections and then molding them to fit your opinion. You even admit in this video that you need to do some research to see what's actually going on. Research before spewing BS, in case someone actually is taking you seriously, please.
POSTED: 10:17 am PDT October 22, 2009 International Paper Co., the world's largest maker of cardboard box materials, said Thursday it is shutting down its plant in Albany and cutting 1,600 positions worldwide as it brings capacity into line with sharply diminished demand.
it's cheaper to send the wood chips to china, process them, and send the finished goods back to the US rather than doing it all here. Thanks to taxes and regulations.
Always great vids by Aaron, great work and unbiased info, man, I really do appreciate it. Keep it up, because things are gonna get worse. Obama's economic team forcasted that gas could go up 7 to 10 dollars a gallon.
great reporting as always. its the same here in my part of ga. a papper mill built in the 30's gone. aside from kingsbay navy base it was the olny other "true" industry. bank owned land everywhere...its getting bad.
Our government has shipped out so many good manufacturing jobs to other countries, for what? Your right Aaron, if this plant closes, it won't come back. We don't have the capacity to start manufacturing companies again. Where are people gonna work at telemarketing and fast food restaurants. Carbon credits like Al Gore are frauds.
I am typically not one to go to extremes but after looking at all of the data over the last 16 months I have to say that this hole we are in as a nation has no quick fix and is continuing to get worse. There is nothing that I see that can stop this financial crises from turning us into a third world nation financially. I now think that it is vital to own land in the country with a garden and canning storage. Even if you live in a tent make sure you own the land with tax money set aside.
Heard the number 1 or 2 export out the port of Long beach, CA. was newsprint to Japan. Also heard they are storing rail cars out near LaGrande, Or.( lumber cars)
i think factories shutting down in America has been a trend in the past 20 years, basically the required return in the US is much higher than in Asia. The capitalists who are Americans don't really care if their fellow Americans suffer, coz your welfare is not on their priority list.
yeah i figured it would be tough from the side of the fence you were on. that's another subject all the locked out places, roads and etc. just wanted to say appreciate your work and viewpoint, it's is just one man and his opinion from his point of view. no one knows or sees everything, but this vid has some good comments on it and a picture can be formed. thanks to you for the forum. please keep it up. in p town, oh well, t

The European Union has a carbon trading scheme system going on. Canada doesnt make the paper but ships out the wood chips to countries that do make it cheaper. At least they have a little bit of exports from the deal.
I think they are claiming about 250 jobs lost by IP. Theres no way that counts all of the contracted employees, truck drivers, railroad jobs, you name it down the line.

Same here, in the midwest. There should be a national emergency by the people right now. not kidding. people are going to be frightened when they learn of what has gone on and what is left. Remaining jobs/biz is contracting quickly.
Thank You... let's nevery forget about both parties passing this NAFTA. Never forget this people. Gingrich, Dole and Clinton passed it. As Perot stated, we would hear the sucking sound... it's all gone people. Wakeup please.
Your right, NAFTA is a big part of the jobs leaving the country. Can't believe what our govt has done to this country. I hope the people wake up soon too.
And it is also because of the federal reserve fiat money why prices have increased drastically over the last 40 years. In other words, we have been going through hyperinflation for a veery long time, so long no one has noticed.
If you track the price of gold no real problems arise except for the early 80's (gold sets record price) notice when the central bank raised interest rates the price of gold went down.
Better return on investment all paper has a future value of 0
Gold in 2000 $265 US
Gold in 2010 $1150 US to keep pace with the counterfeiting gong on
Counterfeiting the money supply into oblivion should kill the majority of sheople out there in la la land. Its ridiculous what governments are getting away with.
Gov contributed to this disaster, true, but also the greed of people, wanting more and more cheap wastable materialistic goods. You'll have the paper mill again once the cost of hiring american workers comes more in line with the cost of hiring a worker in asia.
It'll come back, you'll just be sitting in a rocking chair by then.

Central Bank = Communism happened in 1913, the American people didn't wake up.

The US government did this bull dung on purpose, the American people didn't wake up then and they won't wake up now.
