@editionjoe Since the first humans realised self-awareness and started to develop technologically, we've really grown away from nature I think. Growing away from nature's laws is OK, as long as we realise the responsibilities we then bear, which we humans (as a whole), unfortunately don't.
They've forgotten to include, or have intentionally skipped the weekend part, when everybody pretends to "enjoy" having their life back by going completely mental, either drinking till all is blue, shopping excessively or getting stoned.
The great thing about this video is that it let's you make your own mind up about what statement is being made. Is it saying that our lives are pointless? That we have lost contact with ourselves and others? Or is it simply saying that we don't appreciate modern technology enough. You decide...
Absolutely astonishing. The various animations are so detailed that they work beyond subliminal level. The whole production is technically excellent and just how it portrays the flow of day-to-day human life seems to fit the flow of the music perfectly.
Where can I get a download of this version Remind ? The only version available on Amazon is the version from Melody am which sounds very different to this one.
this video isn't like opening your eyes. it just reminds you of how aimlessly you are spending your life every day. everyone knows that very well, which brings us closer together.
@narkiz yea lucky you... i think i do cuz going to faculty each day, not haveing time for anything else is kinda aimless for me. id rather be on a beach each day or spending more time with my friends
it's depressing because we're just a tiny unit of a huge society, and after our cycle is done we don't exist anymore, replaced by another tiny insignificant unit.
@sushiable if u think you are a unit then you've already lost.... those "units" may be replaced when we die, but we decide wether or not we're apart of this so-called "society". thats my 2 cents on it anyway.
I quote "The unstated joke: mankind has erected immense, resource-devouring systems of almost incomprehensible complexity just so you can sit in your cubicle."
It doesn't make city life look depressing, it shows the incredible depth of everyday tasks and how each person is part of a larger scale of society function.
@Rhinehold62 Well, different people, different views. To some people what you just described is, in some way unknown to us, depressing. Personally I felt nothing from watching this. Of course I am half-asleep still and have little to no idea of what I'm typing right now.
@RuikeiWolf pause after the green bar crosses nyc at the start.... sounds a bit like the opening bit of bulletproof... i thought so as well without even seeing his comment... La Royksopp are infinetly better though
Ordinary life is so constraining. When your work is stressing, you do exactly what the girl does: wake up and do the same things day after day, see always the same faces, eat or drink whatever comes under your teeth just because you need to do something else than thinking about how sad your life is.
And how we are always inside "something"... we can rarely walk free and do whatever we want without depending from something (especially money).
huh, seemed depressing after seeing it a few times. seems like she is trapped, near the end it said monday to friday, and right now i don't have to do that and i hope i never have to but i might, and that's kind of sad, but that's a lot of time.
and then it showed 62% men drinking and 38% women drinking

@h1sname1sunknown I interpret it as showing how international (and on the negative side, homogenized) the modern world has become; you can go from Britain to Japan, and the way the world works is fundamentally the same. That's my take at least.
@h1sname1sunknown I guess they showed Japan at the end to indicate that that same old working day is happening everywhere to almost everyone any time of day, but can be illustrated in this manner in millions of different ways! I love this vid
@Trainmaster189 I know what you mean. I think it's implying they were going to do it all over again for an average Joe in Japan - and if anything, it'd be even more complicated/intricate.
boom economics, agriculture, earth system, manufacturing, social planning world market, stocks, civics, health, smashed into less than four minutes.... now remind me why I go to school.

@charmedmagic92 Interesting, I get kind of freaked out usually by this kind of stuff (technology, all the statistics, where everything comes from etc.) but I actually thought this gave me an opposite effect. This video shows how everything is so connected and how we don't even realize how much more there is than meets the eye, in a really amazing way. I guess the intention of the video is made to make this more of a good side/bad side thing though.

I think more than anything else, this video shows how complex the everyday is, and there's no such thing as the mundane.
And how interconnected everything is, but given how you're viewing this over the internet you should know this by now.
