History is a story we all agree with about what happened in the past. An atheist pushing his views during class is not history. Attacking religion is just as bad as pushing religion on students. Which is why we know things like the Exodus of millions from Egypt is myth. We are really not in huge disagreement. I just think modern historical research has come a long way. The problem is the teacher as an atheist is trying to push his doctrine to students when he should be teaching them on history. Atheism is a religion based on the doctrine that there is no God. It has nothing to do with evolution or multiverse or big bang. Those are scientific theories. Theories not laws as they have yet to be concretely proven. Science must be measurable and repeatable before it becomes a law. Atheism borrows on these theories to make basis of their believe. Believe = doctrine.
As an atheist I find this sort of case very interesting. If this teacher had instead said, "Jesus is the one true path and all other religions are false" this would be a clear constitutional violation. The last comment the teacher made in this video is on the opposite side of the spectrum and he clearly violated the constitution.

@FHomeBrew The teacher, according to the establishment clause, can not express whether he prefers religion to non-religion or non-religion to religion. I think it's kind of a weak law personally. But he is in a place where he holds authority and kids at that age are very impressionable. So I kind of agree with there being a law seeing how poorly parents are raising their kids these days. No work ethic, no morals in my opinion. So teachers are most of the education they get.

Unlike a church, these children's attendance to his class is compulsory, and a schoolteacher's rants contain the implicit threat that a student will be graded unfairly if they disagree. This is an abuse of a position of power, plain and simple.

Which is why we know things like the Exodus of millions from Egypt is myth. We are really not in huge disagreement. I just think modern historical research has come a long way. It is, however, cognate with almost identical words in sister languages such as Aramaic that refer to wild oxen and hence the current translation. The problem is the teacher as an atheist is trying to push his doctrine to students when he should be teaching them on history. Atheism is a religion based on the doctrine that there is no God. It has nothing to do with evolution or multiverse or big bang. Those are scientific theories. Theories not laws as they have yet to be concretely proven. Science must be measurable and repeatable before it becomes a law. Atheism borrows on these theories to make basis of their believe. Believe = doctrine.

As an atheist I find this sort of case very interesting. If this teacher had instead said, "Jesus is the one true path and all other religions are false" this would be a clear constitutional violation. The last comment the teacher made in this video is on the opposite side of the spectrum and he clearly violated the constitution.
Atheists who sincerely want a separation of church and state need to condemn people like this who violate it on "our behalf".

That is why there is a separation of church and state. Now I don't believe he should have been sued but he should have definitely been reprimanded for his actions. Now speaking as a Christian I am not being a hypocrite because I would not want religion taught in a public school setting.

@FHomeBrew The teacher, according to the establishment clause, can not express whether he prefers religion to non-religion or non-religion to religion. I think it's kind of a weak law personally. But he is in a place where he holds authority and kids at that age are very impressionable. So I kind of agree with there being a law seeing how poorly parents are raising their kids these days. No work ethic, no morals in my opinion. So teachers are most of the education they get.

In the USSR1917-92 atheism/evolution was taught daycare-universiy. The Bible was banned&it was illegal to teach it to kids. Within months of the fall of the USSRin 92 the Bible&Creationism was reintroduced in Russian schools The main one behind it was Olga Lutsenko&she was an atheist then. Death threats made her leave in 96&she lives in Canada&is a Christian now. BTWshe is on youtube&I support her work financially. It is amazing how fast the Bible&Christianity came back to Russia 20 years ago..

Unlike a church, these children's attendance to his class is compulsory, and a schoolteacher's rants contain the implicit threat that a student will be graded unfairly if they disagree. This is an abuse of a position of power, plain and simple.
