I like electric guitars, so I like that about Ash's version, but Annie's vocals give the lyrics more of a sense of joy - so I prefer that about her version.

Annie is one of the few people I can say has never butchered a cover...I might like the original just as well or even a little better in some cases, but she always does them justice at least - and often improves on them or brings out something about the original I hadn't noted before.

I just cannot decide! The original is so uplifting and quite majestic - I do not know if this is Karaoke mummsical or quite pleasant! I guess the Ash version is definitive to me - although Tim Wheeler seems to like Annie's!

Nice cover but the tone and feeling of the Ash original version is lost, the uplifting and majesting as you said, I say the fun, anthemic, enigmatic, and the feeling of being pulled away or being sucked into the song are what I love about Ash's version. The band and song of my youth. The theme is universal. You can sing/dedicate to all your love ones (GF/BF, friend, mother, God, etc.) Ash is also definitely for me!!
