Some of the soapiest, masterfully trippy scenes ever put to Techicolor film! This is a certified classic: a quirky, absurdly beautiful picture that has gone on to influence some of the best set and wardrobe designers, not to mention directors! Gene Tierney is disarmingly bewitching; and the scene at the lake where she embodies evil with such poise is unsettling to this day! A true great in every sense.
Well done, Colleen! the music you put is just so fitting to the images and situations;it gives strength to them. I saw the film recently on cinema, and I thought the story was extraordinarly tortured, with so extreme and passionate characters; the talent of the actors make you believe in something quite incredible.
ok -- once again - commenting issues. I saw my comment wasn't really showing ... don't know why ?? I'll try again.
She is so deliciously evil in this ...love it ! One of my favorite movies. She is wonderful in this role - so against type for Gene. I'm going to have to watch this - its been awhile ....many stars for you ... love your video !!
Wow! This one's more obscure but definitely one of my all time favorites - Gene Tierney is absolutely the best in this one! Thanks for the great video - now I have to go in and get my DVD of the full length version, its been too long since I last saw this one ;D
I feel the power! So, you have the disease too, amylwgt (associating music you love with Gene Tierney). There seems to be a lot of it going around lately. God bless you carrier. Don't you just hate this new rating system. I want to vote more than just thumbs up or thumbs down.
A masterwork, and one scene in particular never fails to raise a temperature. For reasons we can ony thank fate, the one foot on the floor rule seemed to pass the censor's knife as Gene gets up out of her own bed, steps over to Cornel's, lies next to him, and slowly blows kisses across his face. She wants to f***. The carnality in her face at this moment, and frustration with the 'situation', takes the breath away.
i've never seen this one, and for a hollywood technocolor-do this one looks particularly sumptuous, yah? but you, muirmaiden, you have made this interesting with not only your music choice but your film edit as well: 5 stars!
Where are they now?Good question. They are all in an eternal studio with King Bogie and Queen Gene planning the big movie. Can't wait to see it.

Excellent clip, perfection.
No ebonic's in the movie, in fact IMO 95% of hollyweird would not be able to handle this script.
