  • enjoyin the vids...keep em comin!

  • his spoon looked like shite it had no concave

  • hey

    where are in this video?

  • What knife and axe were used? Thanks!

  • how good is hazel for making a bush bow? it seems like it would supply great arrows as well :)

  • @panzuman

Hazel can make a decent bow...the harder the wood the better...the stave must exhibit both great elasticity on the back and compression strength on the belly...some good woods for bows are Yew, maple, bay, osage orange, hickory, ash, apple.

    Hope that helps.

    Peace.

  • @kevseadog that did thankyou all i have around here is pine and maple and my pine bow did not turn out so well...

  • @panzuman One of the oldest bows on Earth was of Scotch Pine, if you make the limbs very wide, it should be o.k. Maple makes an excellent bow! I carved one for my girlfriend that is lightning fast and dras at 50lbs.

    Good luck!

    Peace.

  • Hazel? Where are you? I camp from California to Oregon to Washington and lots of Alaska. I have never seen Hazel. You mean like filbert tree's? I don't want to be shot by a farmer cutting pieces off his Hazelnut tree. But thank you for the video, I will use popular tree cause it is very popular around us. LOL

  • @tomdownard4179 There are many hazels throughout northern CA on the coast. I would bet western OR would have it as well. The nut is nutrient rich, and as you see the wood is usefull as well.

  • hey can u tell me the name of that HAND SAW and where u got it at plz answer back

  • he rubbed the knife in the same place make ing it dirtier

    rubb it in diferent spots

  • Very informative, AZ bushcraft is up there with Ray mears.

  • I picked up a Karesuando Boar yesterday, i'll be practicing everything in this video when its warm enough to get out of the house :P

  • what kind of saw is that and where can i find one /

  • @36136 That's a Bahco Laplander saw. Check on Amazon or Ebay, primarily sold in the UK, but you can probably find a supplier in your country.

  • hazel? like a hazelnut tree?

  • @ohshxtwhitegirls yes. :)

  • i've just subscribed, i love your bush craft videos and really enjoy your style, another great name in bushcraft, im sure ill watch you on tv soon :D

  • Why are you using a tiny saw and a tiny axe.

The American Survivalist Association is very angry.

  • yeah anyone know which knife he is using ????

  • anyone know what brand of knife he was using?

  • You could always just drink the soup :p

  • Vernty good info. & you prove it's important to have some knowledge of local trees/wood.

  • hey. i like your videos.

can i ask what song is playing in all of them. it appeals to me

  • Let's all use chopsticks...

  • @qqboy138

Even if its one of those handicap chop sticks with a rubber band they give only to white customers at sushi places?

  • i preffer ray mears he is my idol but az bushcraft is good too !!

    best wishes from me

  • Ray Mears eat your heart out!

  • watch ray mears ??

  • when i met him he had his kellam puukko on him, it was wearing a nice layer of patina

  • Was the sycamore greenwood or cured? I have used cured Bradford pear wood and when it gets oiled, it is really nice grained. Not as dark as walnut but pretty. Going to try persimmon next.

  • You broke your own rule of holding the knife and pulling the wood in order to sharpen the stick.

  • well, the sick was huge

  • nice video and a nice spoon,

  • This might sound random, and I might sound like some kind of tree hugger but don't forget to recycle and not to waste. If we run out of woods to survive in then do any of these skills really matter.

  • the knife looks like a Bison Bushcraft model... not a bad knife...£80 too expensive though

  • He has all Ray Mears vids and books, maybe his underpants as well.....

  • and the tree cutting,

is where rambo knifes ARE useful.

    (referring to the knife video)

  • Hmm..reminds me of what my dad said...make chopsticks

  • what knife does he use in this video

  • i think it's a woodloore or woodlore i dont know exactly

  • it looks like a woodlore clone, many people male them

  • its the bison bushcraft forester knife, about £250

  • In the knife video he use the kellam puukko.

i have the mora training knife.

    very sharp and cheap.

  • the clipper model, i have that

  • £9

  • can anyone tell me what knife that is??

i really like that style of knife

  • i thinks its a BRKT

  • thank you

  • i think thats wrong.... im pretty sure its a enzo knife but i could be wrong but it definitely isnt a bark river knife!

  • yeah youre right i was kinda hasty on my judgement

  • Its a carbon steel knife. Commonly made in Sweden and Scandinavia. You can get a fairly cheap but decent Mora carbon steel knife.

  • duuuuuuude fairly cheap? moras are the cheapest possible knives! THEY ARE AWESOME TOO!!! RAZOR SHARP AND UNDER $10 it doesnt get any better!

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, I just got a Mora clipper, high carbon steel knife for like £9.

  • you dont know what opinels are like then

  • such gear whores haha

  • opinels are great for the money , they are small and light, have a carbon steel blade with a single bevel which makes them razor sharp , but! they are fragile, i tried to carve to bowl in a spoon with one and thetips snapped on the first attempt,

that said though , i hear they float too , so thats a bonus,

  • why not use the knife for eating, then u don´t need wooden sporks anymore :)

  • Maybe he is eating soup.

  • yeah lol. some water, a rabbit u caught and some salt make some desent survival soup.

  • U can also use ur knife to cut out the bowl of the spoon 2

  • why not make a spork?

  • That would be nice xD

  • thats given me an idea ^^

  • that doesnt sound good lol

  • Great show!

I love it very concise and informative.

    5 stars.

  • ok, while carving a spoon for yourself IS very cool and a great show of carving skill it is also kind of funny that he has to bring a special tool to carve it...one that is the approximate size and shape of a spoon...

    ???

  • he does say that you can use an ember from a fire to burn the bowl though

  • even so, why don't you just BRING a spoon...

    and a fork...

  • im sure most people do, but it helps to know how to make some if you lose them duh. Why dont you just bring lighters and a tent and not worry about something happening to them or losing them. By the way, have you considered that some people just enjoy woodworking?

  • Great hints , cheers , is that a Gransfors Bruks wildlife hatchet or the newer mini ?

  • i really wish you were my teacher. seriousely im 13 and have been into bushcraft for a while, though when i saw your videos i made loads of notes. my mom wishes i made notes in lessons like i did with your videos. then i would pass all my exams with a*'s

  • what knife is that?

  • no afence mate but ya dont need sticks that thick for a billy holder i have made them out of sticks about 1cm wide

  • Thats a bacho laplander saw for anyone that cares.

  • what is the muisc?

  • Its at the end of the video

  • it gos so fast after your relaxed video so I have never seen it before !

  • Seven little Sisters is the band

  • much thanks, i always look forward to seeing your vids on my subscription list.

i also like how you dont assume everyone is stupid.

moss has iodine? can it be used as an antiseptic? or possible to purify water in a pinch?

  • It has been used as bandages by drying it out. the problem with using to purify water is the way to meausure... too much and it can be bad for you.

  • Interesting, thank you very much. your information might save some lives oneday.
