  • There is one on ebay and its green

  • this isn't dev hardware but the the dolphin kit you showed is a dev kit this is more then likely 2 early retail prototypes

  • R.....4..... that title has my favorite music from the series

  • It looks like it would play 8-Tracks :3

  • Also why did Nintendo release a HDD console? They never offered HDD games for the gamecube did they? Even during the concept designs or beta. Was the Dolphin system disc or HDD?

  • @Dusty696969 It made testing and editing easier. They could pinpoint problems with the system, and them pop it into a computer and edit the problems out.

  • @BowserKoopaFTW Ok I see. Anyone think the next gen systems will even contain any kind of disk or cartridges? I don't. Everyone is going to need Internet, unless they start offering games on flash drives like movies do.

  • They should of left it HDD. Disk are becoming a thing of the past. Everything will soon be all solid state memory or HDD downloads.

  • T hope some idiot doesn't turn one of those into a GameCube Desktop Organizer.

  • Awww... I only have the gamecube model that was sold. Well it was worth it for playing Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance

  • they made the gamecube a toploader!

  • can i has controller?

  • Get a damn iPod Touch or iPhone and film it with that fucking great Q

  • Is there a way to get one like the blue one and does it play regular games

  • @theoriginalelzincho Nope. The NR Reader reads only specialized disks, and it's possible to get one for 150 - 250 on eBay. :D

  • Thanks for this video! I've never seen a gamecube like this! Subscribed!

  • @ASSEMblerEX LOL!

  • How do you get this!?!?

  • Did you ever check out a NR proto then? I have one up on eBay from P.N. 03, would love to check it out on that NR Reader to find differences!

  • I am sure you know this, but the reason Nintendo made developers use hard drives in the dev kits was so developers would never forget loading times. Too many developers for previous CD-based systems forgot or just didn't give a shit about loading times, and players ended up with games with 30+ second load times. By making devs sit thru loading times as well, it would keep it in their minds.

I am a little jealous you have two of these units in what looks like mint condition.

  • Wow never seen this before. Miss my GameCube it was a so CUBE.

  • Lol, Its "Famicoms Red"

  • nice colours. are these custom paint jobs?

  • Can you remake this video I can't tell what your saying but this looks very interesting.

    I would appreciate it :)

  • The video is Perfect! the audio is not so hot maybe you should invest in a better mic first... You have great videos keep posting.

  • i remember this system, i mean the red one with the serial port. this was shown at nintendo space world years back as i can remember. On Electronic gaming monthly magazine. it was just a snap shot photo but nobody was allowed to touch it or ask questions about it. so it remain a rare mystery.

  • Is that a ridge racer 4 song?

  • do u have any games for this?

  • NEVER seen these anywhere. Thanks for showing.

  • @ryanc519 Thank you for the kind comment, it helps me to keep making videos.

  • @ryanc519

I've actually seen both of these on ebay (two separate auctions), but I couldn't get them them because they got really expensive.

  • How often about do these appear on Ebay? Cause I Kind of want one now.

  • nice...R4 Ridge Racer in BG.

  • Man I wanted one of those so bad the first time I saw images on the forum. Such a trip. As far as the camera goes how much money have you raised?

  • very interesting:D i love these Nintendo dev videos;)

  • How the the video turn out so good, but the audio sound like someone was using a cell phone from a submarine?

  • @Tyrantulas It basically was recorded on a cell phone. Still trying to raise

money on the site for a better camera.

  • @ASSEMblerEX - Your camera is fine. No camera is going give you the quality audio of just doing a straight voiceover track.

My suggestion would be to lay down your audio track via the camera, and then use a real microphone on your computer and the free audio editing software Audacity to make your voiceovers. From there, you can combine your audio and video in the free video editor of your choice (AVIDemux works well).

    Keep up the good work!

  • @Tyrantulas "lay down your audio track via the camera" so that you have a working script of what you want to cover, then you can clean it up with the final track you create while doing your voiceover. It will add a lot to the videos.

  • @ASSEMblerEX wow, your phones camera is a G.

  • @ASSEMblerEX I evny you.

You get all the cool stuff that most gamers would KILL for!

    ;-(

  • @ASSEMblerEX flipcams are ... around $100? :X

  • Where'd u buy it? o_O

  • do you have de harddrive?

  • Where did you get that? I've been looking for GameCubes online but they are all used and refurbished.

  • Great vid dude, nice to share the knowledge of the NPDP.

  • that thing is purple?! I see it as pinkish red?

  • RR R4 music on a NGC video? :D

  • That's cool.

  • Awesome NPDP, really unexpected.
