  • i don't get this whole tuning thing.

  • why do they call it EXPERT they all suck

  • im 8 and i play the guitar

  • Usually a beginner would need to know what the strings are called... not very much help thank you

  • An electric guitar tuners is not expensive...i paid like 10 bucks or less for mine. however learning to tune by ear can be quite helpful...if you are on an iPhone look for the app Guitar Tuner. Works like a charm.

  • Okay go I got my acoustic guitar today and this gave me a few tips on how to tune in, thanks.

I don't plan to lean the strings, I want to try and learn them by ear without using music sheets and such, if anyone has any tips for me lemme know.

  • @RadRosa89

The deal is, you need to know the frets and the notes that pertain to each one on each string. You gotta know what your hands are doing to use your ear. You don't need music sheets, just use a fretboard trainer or something that will get you familiar with your fretboard and it trains both your hands and ears.

  • i got my guitar and managed to break my high E string within one day. DAMMN!!!. but luckly i get new one next week

  • hahaha if you mean youl buy a new guitar because of a broken string-ur crazy,u can just go and buy another string, but if you mean what i said and i didnt understand.sory again

  • oo i found out that technique by myself! :) so proud! lol.

  • thx for how to tune by ear

  • Awesome man. Your sick

  • g string

  • @imacutie301 lolloololololol

  • Thx I am taking lessons but we don't learn to tune till later in the lessons and I don't want to seem like a baby to my teach.

  • HAHAHAHAAHAHA HE SAID G-STRING!

  • HAHA YOU ARE RIGHT

  • @elchileno74 so???

  • Use the dial tone on your phone to tune your guitar ...it works in a pinch..LOL

  • haha it works :)

  • my problem is that i have an acoustic guitar and i have changed the first string from the bottom and i have tried several times but i can't tune it :( i do have a tuner but that doesn't help

  • or just learn a riff that you know very well and you'll hear when playing frets if the guitar is in tune. For example, Riffs from Crazy Train and Fear of the dark. Then you could tune E,A,D,G,B strings very easily, Learn one riff for the high e-string aswell.

  • hey thanks for that its help alot

  • is't there some way 2 tune a guitar via harmonics?

something 2 do with some harmonic notes on the guitar...

  • Sure! it's the best way as far as i'm concerned.

The harmonic found on the seventh fret of the A string is an E harmonic. You can find the same E harmonic in the fifth fret of the E string. Match both of those harmonics unti you hear no batimento, and there you go. You should repeat the process with each string, except the B string, whic is tuned half a tone lower

  • how much cost a "tune`r" for acoustic?

  • For a basic Acoustic guitar tuner it costs about 20 dollars. I got mine from Guitar Center.

  • depends where you get it but one that costs anywhere from 5 to 15 dollars is all you need

  • alll i know is it costs less than the electric one

  • i dont see it funny

  • hahahah omg pause right when it turns to 0:48

  • great! what if u dont have a piano?

  • this is very confusing for someone who doesn't know anything about music (and it's relationship to math)

  • Yeah But All My Strings Are Out Of Tune !

  • @experienceshane

In a way it doesn't matter if it's just for practice. You would be tuning the strings of your guitar so that they sound correctly to one another. I you play a chord it will sound like a chord an not like a tortured cat. Instead of tuned in E it could be E flat or whatever, but again, doesn't matter for practice. Till you can buy or borrow a tuner an tune it correctly

  • little bit too confusing

  • @CpBroadcast.

The principle is this: if your guitar is in tune, fret 5 on a string sounds the same as the OPEN NEXT string. For example: press the 5th fret on the 1st string (E) and this should sound the same as the open 2nd string (A). One exeption: the 5th string (B). There you have to press fret 4 on the 4th string (G) to sound the same as the open 5th string (B). Once you know this you can tune from any string you want

  • im always tempted to smash m y guitar because its so light weight and delicate. but i dont because i know my chances of getting another one is slim

    >=(

  • i put my foot through a 20 dollar acoustic

  • its not working for me then again i have a crappy guitar and dont know a thing about it

    im confused

  • this is a STUPID question but for electric guitar, do u plug it into amp or not????
