Tuomas is definitely Nightwish..... but he can't sing. Interestingly neither can the new singer, which means he can't create atmosphere with the music anymore, as she can't create it with her voice. So it's kinda shit as we lost both and now have a regular rockish band in Nightwish.
@ranoutofeyeballs I take it you haven't heard Imaginaerum yet? As Anette has definitely proven herself with that album. Dark Passion Play was written without her, and she had to adapt her voice into it. That and her vocal lessons.

Obviously they over dramatized it quite a bit. But she leaves the band when they were at their peak without any regard to the bond they had in the band, making them feel as if all they did meant nothing to her.

Anyway I agree with you, the riffs are really tidy, especially the bass. I only discovered this song yesterday but I can't stop listening to it. Tarja is incredible.

Filling in for Tarja's voice would be like filling in guitar for Gary Moore. Some may be proficient enough, but they will never get the emotion (affect).
When they first started, I admit, some songs were REALLY painful for the listener (Slaying The Dreamer) but Anette improved and some of "Tarjas" songs sound really good with her singing them ;)

What's the purpose of the retarded message that was posted on their website? The only thing they wanted to do with that fucked up message was to hurt her! A stab in the back by the rest of the band like she eved did anything bad to them.... Trust me, without her Nightwish would be nothing because her voice made Nightwish sound different!

@77elvistheking She abused them by not showing up to practice, not being with the band and basically only there for the tournies. Then she stabs them in the the back by outright saying that she doesn't care anymore and is going to leave as soon as she gets the pay for the tourney.
Obviously they over dramatized it quite a bit. But she leaves the band when they were at their peak without any regard to the bond they had in the band, making them feel as if all they did meant nothing to her.

What did they managed with the open letter? To make people love Tarja more than Nightwish {although it wasn't their intention..}. Anyway, just my opinion. I don't like new Nightwish but I loooooooooove Tarja :)

@PingouinBleu1 well... then you can call it "alternative version", that is fine for you??, for me is full because "love stronger than..." is the chorus, and the intro is reapeated at the end...and like marshallsatten said, the keyboards are diferent, listen to the choir and string that they are not in the normal version... for me is full.

That's a little bit strange, almost like you were talking to yourself, or just trying to fill the video up with positive comments. Anyway I agree with you, the riffs are really tidy, especially the bass. I only discovered this song yesterday but I can't stop listening to it. Tarja is incredible.

When they first started, I admit, some songs were REALLY painful for the listener (Slaying The Dreamer) but Anette improved and some of "Tarjas" songs sound really good with her singing them ;)
