Very good to see these here, however it bothers me a bit that Tim implies that non-religious people are immune to numinous experiences. As an atheist and Bach lover I'm not inhibited in the least from being moved "spiritually" if you like by the infinity of Bach any more than I am when I consider the cosmos!
This sense of the infinite/cosmic, which is present in most of Bach's works, is IMO shown most fully and perfectly in the last (unfinished) fugue in the Art of Fugue. I believe GG referred to it as an "ever-expanding universe."
