I remember this game very well. What I remember was Jordan hitting every big basket that the Bulls needed to crucial situations to advance and ultimately win. Pippen did not play this game, as he missed the first 35 games of the season due to injury. Jordan, I think, missed the most shots he ever missed in any game of his career with 27 of them, going a terrible 12 of 39 from the field. But he hit the shots when they counted.
I'd love to watch both matchups in full from 1998. Spurs took Chicago to double-OT in Tim Duncan's 3rd game ever, then lost by 10 in San Antonio toward the end of the season. When you consider how much the Spurs dominated the playoffs in 1999, the Finals matchup against Chicago would've been incredible.
Duncan was the best player in the league in just his 2nd year... because Jordan retired. It's a crazy "what if" scenario.
I remember this game very well. It was tied at 73 at the end of regulation, and tied at 79 after the first overtime. It took two OT'S JUST TO TOP 80 POINTS!
this was supposed to be the matchup in the 1999 finals. not Spurs vs Knicks. only reason the Knicks made the finals in '99 was because Jerry Krause split the team (Bulls) apart. had he not done that (moron), the Bulls had the championship won in 1999 seeing as the season was only 5 months long reg. season-post season combined,
he got so many buzzer beaters its ones i forgot about
