I was lucky enough to see Doris many times including her shows with Miss X and Tippi as "Sluts-a-Go-Go" in the 1980's. Her presence was really over whelming because she was such a star. You always knew when she was in the room. I loved the fundraisers for the struggling Vegas In Space project and Doris always stole the show. The highlight was when she appeared at a kissing booth at the Folsom Street fair and I was able to grab a kiss for $5. It was such a bargain! Saint Doris watch over us.
I was part of "Sylvia and the Synthetics" in Sydney in the VERY early '70's. This very ordinary-looking, very quiet, casually-dressed guy arrived, wanting to be a part of our "events". We were too out-of-control to say "no" to anyone but wondered what the hell he could do. Not too long later this vision in drag arrived and we wondered, "who the hell is THIS, but glad she's here!!!". It was the birth of Doris Fish. Thanks for entertaining us all, Doris.
I remember I got to carry a giant Vacuum-formed gemstone on a stick as part of one of Doris' Mardi Gras appearances - she was high on stilts under a giant crinoline skirt, and she had to clamber up to a ledge on the side of the NSW Art Gallery to strap herself into the stilts. I'm proud to have been a part of that. So good to hear her voice again. Thanks so much for posting this.
What a treat this video is for a new fan like myself, i just recently watched Vegas In Space and fell in love with Doris, i only wish there was more of her on video, i really love her style and she seems like she was just as pleasant off screen as she was on,thank you for posting this , and to all of you that actually had the chance to meet her, i hope you know how lucky you are!
I was lucky enough to have seen Doris in San Fran. Not on stage but in front of a bar on Market. She was all done up looking awesome. If i had only had the guts to go up and tell her how fabulous I thought she was!! I was too much in awe at the time...RIP Doris you are so missed by so many xox
I adored Doris and was fortuante to catch "Blonde Sin" at the Hotel Utah. I saw it 4 times.I made it a point to see Doris perform as often as possible. She was truly inspired.

Thanks so much for posting this. She's been an inspiration to me since I saw her first in the late 80's. She was bigger than life. Genius.

Doris had so much beauty, wit, wisdom, and talent it's rather amazing she was just one person.
