  • So is it that you can only automate four tracks?

    Considering to get one.

  • @faaaizz you could use the knobs for channel volumes as im doing there, but general usage is either 2 channels with pitch faders + effects or 4 channels with volume only

  • So is it that you can only automate four tracks?

  • check this /watch?v=HXTY4jrjKLc&feature=related

  • Can i use the X-Session Pro for podcasting and live assist radio?

  • very nice song kepp it 100

  • NICE WORK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • NICE!!!!!!!!

  • Can you loop with X session pro?

  • @27LEGENDA no. it's the software you use with it which will allow you to loop or not to.

  • Very talented man love this mix !

  • So Ableton on the computer has a bunch of samples loaded and they are then trigger by the midi controller thing you are tweaking? Is that how it works? Where do you get the samples from? Sample packs or do you record them or what? Cheers

  • @firsthippy Some of them are downloaded (sample packs), some of them are made by me with synthesizers.

  • the melody is so ugly !

  • that goes deep! cool!

    what you think about that?

  • Sooooooooooooooooooo nice tune <3

If you can reupload this in high quality please ;)

  • nice dude

you have so much talent i need more in this way

thx for the nice minutes ;)

  • muy buena...suena casi identica a "serenity" de Popof...unos 4 bpm mas bajonera...pero de que esta buena,lo esta :-D

  • This is really really nice! You got a knack for the minimal. Proud of you. I wish i could make stuff like this.

  • Einfach ein Träumchen der Beat! Richtig geiles Teil,RESPEKT! 5*

  • like it mate :)

  • honestly i dont like using external crossfaders when mixing in ableton anyways. i just hotkeyed the crossfader controls (left, center, right) on my computer keyboard and i can do quicker and sharper cuts with less effort

im using the apc20 too so i really dont see the point of dropping 100 bucks for this

    just my preference though

  • Nice session man I lovo minimal tech my god is a dj...!!!

  • Amazaing i like this sound !!!!!!

  • This is exactly the minimum style I want to be able to create in ableton. Perfect drums, perfact bass....I know you lost the project, but could you please make a tutorial showing how to create at least a similar track. Your other tutorial helped me a lot..

    Thank you in advance...

  • sei un genio...baci Padma Vijaya...and Alice..

  • Sick...can i buy this track anywhere?

  • @fussballer7 lost the project. you can, if you want, record the audio from this video and use it as you please.

  • i like progressif its very subtil!!!!

  • can you help me?how would you map the hercules dj console mk2 for ableton?

  • can you help me?how would you map the hercules dj console mk2 for ableton?can you give me a tip?

  • very dope tune fermixx. Your tutorial about minimal with ableton helped me a lot!

  • this song is awesome! is the song anywhere? i love it!

  • me gusto mucho la composicion!!!

  • Wohooow, going tingle in my brain ^^ goes under the skin! 5stars, you go on m8 go on ^^

    Fine Tune

  • ding ding dong

    thats a crackin song

  • any chance i can get the project files for a remix or sumthin??

  • @dyepaintball123 i lost the project files quite a long time ago. im sorry.

  • @fermixx all good. amazing mix by the way!!

  • as for the mixer - it's good for beginners, i've been using it for 2 years and definitely move for something with more knobs/buttons. also, the fader is too loose for me.

  • on mac you can easily cue with a cheap external usb soundcard like this one (no need to buy an expensive one):

    tinyurl dot com/2v4zxda

it costs a couple of bucks. you plug it in via usb, create an aggregated audio device in your audio/midi control room. then assign 2 stereo outputs for cueing and two for main out in ableton live.

  • Waaaaaw how can i learn to do this stuff

  • good job man that's wicked tune !!! Minimal pure vibes !!

  • awesome work

  • I really like the bassline. Can u help me out? i would like to create one just like that.I have the novation Bass Station. Keep up the good work! :))

  • very great........ 5*

  • nice sound! like your minimal techno

  • veeeerrryyyyy niiiiiiiceee!!!!!!!! i like your style!! keep on the good work..

  • very nice,its simply good

  • Cool thanks for that, really like the mix, good work :)

  • How solid are the knobs and faders on this mixer? Ive used some pretty plasticy ones like the Behringer BCD2000

  • @johnjoerice this is one of the most solid plastics i've ever encountered. the faders are tight. knobs are a bit more loose. the two central columns have stops in the middle (0 o'clock). the left and right most dont have stops.

Much better build quality than any behringer stuff.

  • Oh :) Still Epic Mix Mate Gunna Download your mapping see how it works

  • ur a sick ass foo bruh

  • Nice taste for tracks, and nice work, thnx for share it.

  • nice play

  • excelent work :) keep it up )

  • great!!

  • how calls this mixer?

  • Not bad, Im liking the sound. Although its quite produced, and not music that is truly live. More of a routine, but nonetheless I see you spent a good amount of time doing this and I would say it is quite successful.

  • This is the exciting way to make music. Love the dissonance, keeps people haunted!

  • what would you need to do a party with one of these? how would i hook up headphones, amp, pre amp n loud speakers?

  • @bonephi check the video responses or browse my channel to find how to cue with this gear

  • @fermixx Get a Second External Audio Card mate

  • @djmichaelgaudry already got one. its just that i didnt need it for this one

  • btw im not saying its bad, im just saying its not 100% minimal techno

  • Well, this is close to minimal techno cuz minimal techno u dont drop ANY loops besides the 1's u start out with. At 0:49 u droped a drum loop

  • I really like this :)

  • Me likey.

  • nuttin wrong with this track man, beats the crap thats on the radio

    keep it up bruv

  • So very cool.

  • Awesome work. I'd like to know how'd you go about joining this track with several others for live performance on stage.

  • @eatshitgoogle im still trying to figure it out myself. I guess i should prepare it more dinamically with less midi and more audio clips, and just playing arround with scenes.

  • @eatshitgoogle save the whole final recorded version as a .wav

Then put it in a new ableton set along with any other songs you'll play. Hence, making a DJ set. Hope that's what you were looking for!

  • music theory is only a theory...if you dont have it ,,,you dont have it..,,,and you my friend your are Super!!!!!

    GoGoGGGGOOOO and dont stop!!!!

Music theory + ears+mind= Happpyyyyy Music and full of felings :)

  • lol fake...

  • I think you r music is pretty awsome!!

    Keeep the good work!!

  • that´s really good =D

realy llike the connection with the music and i don´t miss the theory ;)

    keep working ya? =D

  • zzzz this was cool like 10 years ago... anyone know where I am at?

  • this isnt any more "live" than a DJ. are these even your tracks or are you just mixing someone elses(ie BEING A DJ)?

  • @justin2thi5746 im mixing several loops in several channels. By the way, loops i did myself. call it however you want

  • @justin2thi5746 DJing is a live process. At it's most basic level it's beat matching and selection of material. The selection of material can be affected by factors like crowd reaction, "genre" of the gig and your time slot. More advanced digital DJing adds even more variables, looping, effects and multi-layering of tracks. What fermixx is doing is live too. He is altering so many different parameters all in real time. Your definition of live perhaps means creating sounds acoustically?

  • like it a lot! well done

  • excellent.... i like a lot... i downloaded it to my ipod...

  • out of tune (blah blah blah) music theory (blah blah blah) close your eyes; open your mind, ears, and heart. This is the shizzle!!!! Be proud and just keep giving us more!

  • That's quality mate gonna get the mixer asap to start my set up!

  • it seems that there is someone who got an music theory diploma and can't stand the situation that there is someone else who makes good music by learning it by doing it...

If u cant stand the music of fermixx dont listen to it... kanank7

Move right 2 ur Channel and try 2 beat it... that would be the only way u could show backbone!

    Its only the music...

    Good work Ferm! ;)

  • kanank7: You can spend 100 years learning music theory.,.. what it gets people into liking music is a connection that goes beyond that.. I really feel this is good..kanank7 You are a hater! fermixx : keep having fun.. and do what you enjoy! and don't listen to haters!

  • where can i get the original, id like to have this for a set

  • i love this song, but only the first 3 or 4 minutes, i love the intro, (awesome sounds)

  • hey man. u got ur flow and keep it that way. keep livin just like ur playin... i like it.

  • i really like it man. only thing i didnt like is the sound that starts to creep in around 03:25 and unfortunately that dick head kanank7 is right, that bit it is out of tune. But there is no way you should "quit the music business fellow" you deffo have talent.

  • first part swell

  • very chilled bro. keep up the good work!

  • Das rumspielen mit den knöppen macht am meisten spaß

  • another comment, if i may...

Now its a constructive one..... @ 4:10 that melody its totally out of tune.. badly...

download a musical scales charrt at least and follow it.. or study music theory..

    good luck

  • thats a constructive one. I always wanted to learn music theory. I make all the scales and chords by ear, which complicates things a lot.

Sadly i dont have time nor the will to learn that atm, but its something i'll learn someday

  • @mb33139: ??? childish ? grow ups call it expirience mate... expirience... something that obviously you dont have it... any way,, u can reply 10.000 times i wont talk 2 u again ... waste of time!

  • final comment: if you dont like it for X reason, its fine. But dont blame those who liked it.

On top of that, certain styles have dissonance as a key element of a track, and minimal is (or was originally) one of these.

  • dude, don´t listen to people who tell you what your music is supposed to sound like (unless they´re paying your wages). if it sounds good, then it is good. which it does.

  • fuck you bitch ass this is good shit and youre just a motherfucker(that means that you fuck youre own mother) fuck you !!!

  • Obviously you are a very exited party goer that just have been introduced to e-music, and i guess more specific minimal. But hey amature, i see u can say bad words very well, not sure if u know what the word GOOD MEANS... thats the difference between some1 that have been playing e-music since 1999 and you... EXPIRIENCE COMES WITH TIME.. BE MODEST AND YOUR TIME WILL COME , LITTLE KID..

  • I understand what you are saying and have studied music theory myself, but there something to be said for dissonance. While the melody itself may be out of scale, the unpredictability of that causes dissonance. This gives the track an uncomfortable feel which sets the dark tone perfectly. I think this is what fermixx's "ear" led him to create. Good work.

  • i think u should quit music too! and donate free of charge your music theory diploma, of course seems to be useless!

  • @kanank7 Haha.. I will do this, as soon as you slice off your ears so as to not burden us with your childish opinions!

  • you make me laugh.

Btw, who said waves are virtual instruments? Me? Where? Seriously, i dont remember it.

Waves are vst's, not instruments since they do not generate sound by themselves. Let me tell ya that vsts and plug ins are exactly the same thing, if that was confusing you.

  • love it. im subcribing. !! nice work!

  • Really cool man it's proper min so much shit out there people are calling min and it's got nothing to do with the minimal sound

  • i would have to say i forgot i was listing to a youtube video there for a bit. good job man.

  • yah im getting one of these now. going to use it with nano pads and nano konrol for even more faders/knobs, will probably use it in Traktor mostly.

  • awesome dude

  • man i have this same mixer and a behringer UMX25 cotroller i make hard tech and gabber on ableton now im trying minimal cuz im quiting amphetamines ;( plz PLZ PM me where to get theese plugins they are wicked!

  • you should get into some chilled dubstep while ur at it :)

  • Sweet tunes, I'd love to hear this through a big soundsystem =)

  • great!! just super cool, well done man, i love ableton, your music is very good!

  • hiya mate. made an account to tell you how sick you are! fucking love the minimal. getting apc40 next month, loving it mate check out le jockey. peace. x

  • give me a shout here when you upload your first minimal session with the apc, looking forward to hear and SEE it.

    cheers

  • well done, you have my support, and I think I'm going to get one of those x-session pro's now.... yeah

  • да ад!! харашО

  • very nice...:)

  • what audio card do you use? the controler is nice one, i think to take 1 soon :)

  • @kindzadza134 onboard soundcard :)

for cueing browse my video on how to cue with the x-session pro

  • @chispalondon hi mr professinoal dj. let me tell you that this is live music production, not djing. i guess you are not professional music composer in live.

    epic troller

  • si señor ke crack xd.oye podrias aser algun tutorial del ableton?nos vendria bien te lo agradeceria.salu2

  • this is nice dude good job keep bringing that stuff minimal 4-ever

  • NIIIIICE! you on soundcloud???

  • yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

  • i love it. clean sound

  • Your sounds are well balanced and your timing is impeccable. You will become one of the select few who carries loyal audience.

  • what u are doing is aint "producing"...its turning knobs and faders, to controll parameters.... it thought you would arrange Live and all that stuff, but all you do is automate the parameters

  • not automating them, tweaking them.

So you came here to see me making the beats in live in real time? i mean, with the mouse and midi keyboard?

that could be cool for another video

  • thats what i call producing in live ;) ...wouldve been nice to see you triggering clips and scenes and all that stuff...i think i will get me a launchpad or APC40 for this job, cause klicking clips to start with the MOUSE is horrible...

would like to see, how the other people trigger theyr clips and scenes, in which way they do..

  • @GregorEicher well in that case this is some sort of producing in live.

however my approach is different. rather than triggering and stoping lots of clips, i prefer to leave everything playing and then do the work with volumes and other parameters.

I use the buttons for on off instead of play/launch

however i think its because i had a lot of knobs and very few buttons

  • thats a nice idea too!... nice i will try out to arrange/produce this way... thats why i love platforms like this, you can share your techniques and ideas ;-) ...i think ive arranged this way some day, but i dont really know...its a alternative, nearly the same like starting and stopping clips, but if you want to have another pattern in a channel, you will have to trigger another clip ;-)

  • @GregorEicher Thats why i have, for example, a single channel for kicks, a single channel for snare, and a single snare for hihats. Instead of grouping them in a drum rack or impulse (like most ppl do).

  • thats realy nice man yo did it

    its faaaaat ;);)

tzn tzn tzn tzn tzn tzn ........ ;)

  • Very good track :)

  • nice nice!!

  • VIDEO FULERO...NEM TA FAZENDA NADA AI

  • can u conect mic into this mixer?

  • mic goes to a soundcard, this is a midi controller

  • great song!

  • can you use this with turntables?

  • you mean ableton live?

nope, only midi or hardware mixers (if you have enough outputs)

  • pretty cool , keep it up

  • like the tune man, great job, whats your opinion using the exession pro. how would u rate it?

  • build quality: 8.5/10

    ease of use: 9/10

the only downside is that it got short for me really soon. i think you cant change the midi channel so you are pretty much fixed with all the parameters you can control.

if thats not a problem for you then fine, otherwise you could save up some more and get a novation product or bcr2000

  • That was the bomb! I have been away for five years and didn't know the technology was so up to date. Must have for any DJ!!!!!

  • sick man, ableton is a blast

  • very nice..

  • like that toon homie.
