That's not a trip by the Mantis. Jumping spiders will do this also. More likely they don't quite have their prey the way they want it, so they flip to keep it from turning on them by getting the prey's legs off the floor. This would keep the prey from being able to use its legs against the surface it is sitting on to counter attack, especially in this case, because the spider has fangs filled with venom.
