Fought this guy today, and because I don't grind and want a challenge, this thing was quiet tough. Lots of health, and his attacks took of quiet a chunk of energy from my melee knight. Also, his insect-projectiles sometimes almost killed me.

That's the lovely thing about no grinding, you can still have a challenge with the seemingly easiest of bosses.

You ever crack off all the wooden barrels around it? It has a nasty ochre colored core with slime stalactites and stalagmites around it. That and the misshapen slabs of meat.

honestly, this boss was really easy. I had more trouble with the goddamned Giant Depraved ones. it feels SOOO satisfying to use Soul sucker on them.

I can't remember leechmonger or Dirty Colossus very well, since i ended the fights quickly with only one firestorm.

People thought this boss was easy? I went in by myself (Dragon Bone Crusher, Gloom Helmet+Gauntlets+Leggings, Old Ragged Robes, Dark Silver Shield, S. Level 120) and died almost instantaneously. Or maybe I just suck...

@Death2Heath wtf? I went in Dragon Bone Smasher +5, Gloom Armor minus the helmet, Assassin's mask, Ring of Poison Resistance, Ring of Great Strength, Secret Dagger +9, and Soul Level 67 and he couldn't touch me

The trolls themselves aren't THAT bad, its just the area were you fight them really limits your movement....'

The giant Trolls are harder than this crumbly fly infested fail boss. Should of had you fight him in the swamp. That would raise the difficulty.

Lol, so true. The giant trolls are the worst enemies in the game to me, excluding some other bosses. This was one of the few bosses I actually beat on my first try with no help.

There were three mysterious treasures (stones of ephemeral eyes) on the outskirts of that level, It was guarded by 4 (yes four) giant trolls. There was no way to snipe them from afar, they'd just run away, so the only way to collect the treasure without dying was to run right into them, and run back a mile in the swamp to land, wait till they give up, then shoot them in the back and repeat. I'd fight Flamelurker in melee three times in a row over facing them again.

@GarlandFraser dude, use viscous compound longbow +5 and 30 dex. with clever rats ring and morion blade. it isn't hard to go down to 30% with the poison

@GarlandFraser i always fight flamelurker with melee, i dont see why everyone hates it so much, just circle one of the pillars near the staircase, and when he jump attacks, get in a few swings

@Ninjaxon5 I do to, cept I don't really use a strategy, I just use my epic reflexes to keep the fight epic and intense. I solo melee'd him with my Large Sword of Moonlight on the third playthrough.

Yeah it's funny. The fifth world was incredibly hard but the bosses as a whole were rather pathetic.

@GarlandFraser The RED giant trolls in black tendency are nasty :) But with the right tactics everything is easy. i used to farm these for stones of ephemeral eyes.

@GarlandFraser Yes they could have put him in the swamp, they also could have made Astraea fight you, the Tower Knight Faster, and also added two Penetrator's, but the point is they didn't. Every boss is perfect the way it is.

@PancakeWolf13 But Astraea does fight you. She Wrath of Gods your ass if you get close to her. And they did make all those changed in Dark Souls. Ornstein and Smough were like fighting the Tower Knight and the Penetrator at the same time!
