yes we needed to have permission from the pirs who organize the festival. Amena was the first woman to ever be given permission to play, now we play every year. LOVE

my name is arjun baba, harmonium and 2nd vocal in fanna fi allah, this qawwali group, from california, usa yes we traveled to pakistan last year to further initiate ourselves into the deep practice of qawwali. we are indeed still children is this sublime practice.we were received openly by the people and qawwali masters themselves. in sufi way, we do not focus on resrictions of color, creed, etc... haq ali
