Now that I think about it, look at the floor during the final battle of the game. It clearly has the floor that resembles the Chemical Plant Zone. Hence, the Chemical Plant Zone was originally the Death Egg Zone of Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

If you play Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Long Version, it has Death Egg Zone 1 and 2, and other unreleased Zones.

If you play the released one (Sonic The Hedgehog 2), it has just Death Egg Zone.

The unreleased Zones are:

-Wood Zone

-Hidden Palace Zone

-Genocide City Zone

-Dust Hill Zone

-Death Egg Zone Act 1 and Act 2.

Why secretly? I played Sonic The Hedgehog 2: Long Version, recorded it and uploaded from begin to the end (Unreleased Zones included). I wrote "Sonic The Hedgehog 2" for the released Zones and "Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Long Version" for the unreleased Zones for example: Death Egg Zone - Act 1. Death Egg Zone - Act 1 wasn't included in the released Version so that's why I wrote "Sonic The Hedgehog 2: Long Version".

I like the other ending a little more because it's kind of like Tails coming to "save" Sonic from falling at the end but this ending is cool too. Watching all these videos is making me want to bust out the Genesis again!
