Love the system! I can tell you have some skills. Seems very well engineered.
Don't you worry about the PVC pipe? That stuff isn't safe man! Please don't sell any fruits or veggies or medicine from it. I don't want to end up with them. Not knocking you at all. I really love the system. Just be careful with your health.
Hey Mikey, I would like to see a grow journal using this basic set up, obviously with a single mist head and D2W. This would be a good A/B versus using an accumulator
Hey man i run the same ballast and light combo and reflector in a 4x4 grow tent and am having problems with heat into the 90 degree range does the inline ducting help quite a bit?
@jsnnurse06 The ducting with a fan will not just help, it will solve your problem. I found a small 8" fan at the goodwill for 99 cents. I made a chickenshit reducer out of cardboard so the 6" ducting would fit up. It's been working great. I live in a cool region though. I may have to get a proper fan in the summer. Are you running C02? If not, I can't tell you how important it is to be bringing fresh air into the tent.
Congratulations for building such an amazing system! I am actually very impressed because looking at it seems like it was manufactured by an aeroponic company. The design is awesome. Those huge and tall buckets are really not ordinary in this setup but they can surely serve the best purpose. Do you have any updates on the kind of results you got from this system? Please let us know. Thanks.
@grower912 I appreciate the input, thanks! I put alot of thought into it. I guess I got pretty lucky in that it has exceeded my expectations and is operationally sound. No leaks, no clogged misters, nothing to complain about so far. I've posted a follow up vid called aeroponic flower towers, and plan to post more as things progress. Thanks!

I run it 15 on, 15 off for veg. Same for flower, but when lights are out, I only hit it 15 on, 2hrs off. Roots aren't untaking water during lights off. Or at least I'm told. When I get the cash/time, I plan on adding an accumulator tank that will optimize misting times. 15 sec on, 3 min off. Or something like that. Glad you like it. I'd be interested in your project when ya get it going.
Strangly enough the misters came from home depot. They were like $1 a piece. I like that the oriface is pretty big, and they don't clog at all. I haven't had to replace one yet. The results are pretty amazing so far. I am getting really fast growth. I'm a little paranoid about posting incriminating video, but I may post something soon.
Nice setup bro, first time I have seen a setup like this. What type of mister heads are you using to achieve a fine mist like that? I would like to see the results of your grow using this system.
I had to cut a pretty big hole in the ceiling (2nd story floor) so that my light could be raised high enough. It was challenging. The tub I used was taller than I wanted which didn't help. A 2 x 4 x 8 flood table would have sufficient volume, and give you a bit more overhead room. My pump is a sureflo 45 psi. Was supposed to be 100 psi, but they screwed up my order. Being impatient I tried it anyway, and it's more than enough for the 12 misters.
Nice setup, planned the same type of idea for next time, wish i had all the overhead room to manage that sweet return system though, nice! so what pressure and flow rate was the pump you finally settled with? just ordered a 55 psi 3 gal per min. chose this pump hoping it will work with both atomizing nossles for when i upgrade, but still have it work fine with my current sprinkler nozzels.
A little over a grand. Bulbs, hood, ballast & nutes were what killed me.The 10" pvc was free. The res was something I had layin around. I pinched as many pennies as possible. I got fans from goodwill. Used a 99 cent 8" fan to suck hot air off my light. Works great. I got some babies in the pots now on half strength nutes. I have HIGH hopes for this system.
way over priced for only three plants man, you should take it all apart and think up something better because you are wasting alot of energy running a 400 watt mh for three plants 150 watt hps or a 250 watt hps/mh would be just fine, just saying
1) I am doing this for personal use. 3 plants is more than enough for me.
2) I'll take the pepsi challenge against any 3 plants you can put up. Higher yeild, in less time.
3) What innovative system have you developed?
4) I use the 400w MH for veg, and the 600w HPS to increase yeild & decrease the time it takes to finish. I certainly could use a lower watt lamp, but I did it this way on purpose.
Ok, that's cool. The expense was not so much the stuff I built. I could've saved money by using a magnetic ballast, and cheaper bulbs. I went heavy on that stuff because I saved so much on everything else. I'll likely try cheaper bulbs when the time comes. Hortilux's were 115 ea. Sylvania's are like 20. I'll be doing the pepsi challenge on those for sure.

im not sure the expense of a high pressure system is worth it and you may not even see the results over low pressure systems.

what you need is 75-100 psi with a sprayer dispursment of 50 microns. That is exactly what the roots absorb best.

Cool Idea, I've tossed around a similar one. How long will you be running the pump each day?

Nice setup; mine should be fully setup within a few days.
Look forward to comparing notes/results.
