@d4rkfuzion would imagine 87 as its a 1.3 so not a performance motor. Some might say 93 helps performance and cleans out your fuel systems but thats debatable.
OK, you must have had perfect weather conditions and tires pumped up to 60lbs to get these figures. I have a 2009 Civic that constantly falls well short no matter how carefully I drive. My civic only gets about 37 combined, and if it rains, about 33mpg, and if its cold, 33mpg, and if its hot, 33mpg, Honda is full of shit!!! Sold me a car that was $6000 more and I get standard civic gas milage. bullshit!
this is the car i had to used during drivers ed and my road test. i thought it was a good car. i wouldve considered buying or leasing it if it wasnt for the insane cost of insurance for this car for someone my age
@kenneykole Those are only EPA estimates. Not real world driving. Since my last post I have increased my economy to 4.7 L/100 km city and 3.9 L/100 km highway. Much better than EPA estimates.
@kris1991 While you are partially right. Hybrids can be slow but mostly by choice. Many people who drive hybrids tend to be lighter on the accelerator than drivers of non-hybrids. Honestly I love the look that I get when someone stops behind me at a traffic light. I often joke that my car goes from 0 to 100 when it feels like it. LOL
How far could you travel the furthest with a full tank of fuel without refueling? Is it possible to travel 1000 km or more on long trips without refueling? Thanks.
I manage to get about 750 km which it's roughly about 460 miles mix city and hwy driving in my 08 civic hybrid before, and it usually only take about 9 gallons to fill up afterward. the civic hybrid claim to have a 12 gallons gas tank but I never really use up any more than 10 gallons before.
And I haven't really try only hwy drivings until it's time to fill up, maybe I'll try is sometime in the future like taking a trip to Los Angeles California or something.
@ale03000 The most I've ever gotten on a full tank has been around 790 miles on a long trip. That was achieved with babying it, though. You get out of them what you put in. In other words, if you drive it like a normal car (AC blasting and lead foot), you will not get very good gas mileage. With dropping my speed back about 5 mph under the posted speed limit, I average 48 mpg on my 2005 HCH...and love it! It is close to turning over 120,000 miles now.
If I was allowed a car at Bath University (and it wasn't so expensive), this would be the perfect car for me!
I could use the regenerative braking all the way down Bathwick Hill, then drive all around town on the power I've generated, then switch on the petrol engine to whizz back up the hill, then use the electric motor to drive back along the flat and park up! The only fuel used would be to drive up the mile of hill - which a normal car would need anyway.
If I'm not mistaken the Toyota Prius is the most efficient car that runs on fuel/petrol, or it has the best fuel efficiency in the world, so it's a good choice as well.
No. There are plenty of vehicles that get much, much better mileage than the Prius.
I'll give you an example: The new VW Polo gets 52.3mpg urban (city)/78.5 extra-urban (highway), a combined of 65.7mpg.
The new XJ from Jaguar equipped with a diesel will get 40.1mpg combined, which is a little less than the Prius, yet it can do 0-60 in 6 seconds. Those are just a couple of several cars that are capable of higher mileage, while being better looking and..well, a better all around car.
No, not the Polo, as well as several other non-hybrid vehicles that also get better mileage.
But the Prius really isn't close to the most fuel efficient vehicle in the world. It has to be one of the worst cars ever made, considering how expensive it is and how poorly it is made.
If you want to get a vehicle with good mileage, please reconsider before buying a Prius if you are plan on buying one.
If you are looking to buy a new car, good luck in your search.
@quantummechanic90 Yeah agreed. People in America don't hear about other cars that do MUCH better than the Prius around the world. (I am from America by the way, so I'm not being stereotypical or anything) In Europe, it's not uncommon to see cars that get 60+MPG. Seems like those kinda cars just aren't accepted here.
yeah the second half if the xtra fortune you have to spend to get your ipod friendly with this car....the ipod intergration on this car is a mess, expensive, and doesnt work very well...honda should of made a deal with Microsoft with the Sync System.
The narrator makes a mistake at 0:55 by saying that the engine quickly comes to life after stepping on the accelerator. That is incorrect. The engine re-starts after taking your foot off of the brake.
Yeah, the Crown victoria was junk, that thing was so unreliable and gas inneffecient. The ford Focus, Fusion, and F series all suck. The Chevy Malibu is horrible on gas and is unsafe, the Impala sucked big balls. Why don't you stop supporting an economy that gets its low prices because the government controls salary, and start supporting your own fucking country. Support America or get the fuck out asshole.
Toyota Camry, Honda Accord's are made mostly of American parts and assembled in USA by American workers, these cars are more American than Chevy, Ford, Cadillac these cars are made mostly of parts made in China, Korea and assembled in Canada or Mexico. Go to a dealer and check the parts content on the sticker and assembly point before making comments out of your ignorance. Go get an education
You don't get it do you? Most of the money is made off the design. Education means absolutely nothing, its research that counts. I have absolutely no problem if Ford or GM or Chevy use China to get their cheap labor and manufacturing. The majority of the costs of a car are in design.
Not really. The '06-'09 are all 8th generation Civics, and second generation Civic Hybrids. They are almost exactly the same with small differences. One of the main differences between the '07 and '08 is that the '08 has tire pressure monitoring.
I want that car sooooooooooooo bad.

Nice Civic!
I love civic. My buddy have 2009 Honda Civic SI - high perfromance 1.8L I4 - 240+ hp. and it was fast. But the gas mileage is not good as hybrid, lol.
My dad have a 2003 Honda Insight - 1.0L 3 cylinder - hybrid - 93 hp.
and he gets around 70+ mpg in the hihgway, 60s in the city and the accleration is not too bad.
I can't believe about new Insight use more gas. Because they made a bigger car. for more room.
