I like the song, but just a thought...if they wanted to make the character of the phantom truly come alive, they should give their makeup artist a workout. put some scars on his face so it's not just a prettyboy with a mask. that's what every version i've seen so far has been.

It's, undoubtedly, a good rendition by Emmy Rossum and Gerard Butler - and yes, both actors were the actual lead vocalists on the majority of the soundtrack. While they've done a good job of it, I really, really, really liked, when Sarah Brightman sang this song back a long time with the original London cast.

The difference between Michael Crawford and Gerard Butler is, to me, all about taste. Either classic or modern, I enjoyed both, but they're essentially for a different target audience.

Can't get enough of this movie my parents saw it in theater my friend saw it in theater I have yet to see it in the actual theater in new York but I've seen the movie. Funny thing I saw the original actors for the play the male singer was Antonio Banderes the voice of puss in boots in shrek also well known as the dad in spy kids can never remember his name though
