  • geithner is such a scumbag though lol

  • Even S&P themselves said at the time that the downgrade wasn't due to scepticism about the US' ability to pay it's bills. That should be a WTF moment, because that's what a credit rating is for.

  • Geithner's answer: "That piano isn't out of tune. It just sounds that way."

  • Entitlement restructuring, healing economy, geitner lies! Because his programs only work for banks, state govt, politicians, media marketing, and above all military violence. Those are the few people that exchange a large chunk of us dollars everyday. message to small shop keepers, min wage workers, jobless kids, struggling parents you can all go to hell cause no democrats republicans thet dont work for you. they rip us all off. With all this knowledge and money we have to be poor?

  • The US is growing? That is news. He is painting a way to positive picture (as is his job).

What challenges is he talking about? The ones crocks like him brought forth? The money has gone to people like Geithner, they might have spend the most on cocaine and hookers, but let us just take back what is left.

  • Hmmm... Everyone really knows that the US Treasury Dept and the Fed are doing all they possibly can to devalue the dollar and to reallocate the reserves of savers to hopeless debtors. This interview is amazing as to just how Geithner jumps at any opportunity to divert the issue and expound upon European troubles.... The basic truth is the West is screwed. That goes for both Europe and North America. Let's just become comfortable with the fact that we will have to live simpler lives!

  • 6:29 - That statement is actually very very true. I think that sums things up.

  • He claims we've had strong job creation for this early in a recovery. That's obviously laughable, given that as a percentage of the working population, unemployment is has actually been slightly creeping down overall. This is just an example of the pathetic alternate reality Obama's trying to sell in lieu of economic policy success.

And how could they have been surprised by Republicans going to the mat on the debt ceiling? Are these idiots the only people in the world fooled?

  • Geithner's a joke too, though brilliant compared to Schiff.

Notice he blames Congress, and not Republicans specifically. This is clearly part of the problem, to me. The Republicans need to be bashed daily, but Obama'd rather coddle his sworn enemies.

And then he goes on to say the political system will step up, because it always has in the past. There's hardly a more stupid statement that can be made. Germany had always been Democratic, until it wasn't, during the interwar years.

  • Consumers still have too much debt, not enough industry, housing bubble is falling back down to sanity levels. Slow growth is optimistic for the coming years.

  • @Seano71

yes, that's why debt repudiation is the first thing that needs to be done.
