I was there and there were at least HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of patriotic Americans in Washington DC on 9/12 protesting a government that is overreaching its authority. Some estimates go as high as 1.7 million. The marchers were 20 across and I watched them for over 3 hours just keep on coming. It was an amazing sight.

I have a friend whose doctor wanted to charge his clients $150/month. He'd take care of all her family's routine medical care. This was a great arrangement, but it wasn't legal due to govt regulations.

The govt is already preventing us from choosing creative solutions we want.
Those regulations sound like they were written by the insurance lobby, and I would gladly repeal that specific point, I think what a doctor and a patient work out is 100% their business. I would gladly attach that to the current bill.

I was there and there were at least HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of patriotic Americans in Washington DC on 9/12 protesting a government that is overreaching its authority. Some estimates go as high as 1.7 million. The marchers were 20 across and I watched them for over 3 hours just keep on coming. It was an amazing sight.
I wasn't there because of Fox News. In fact, Fox News didn't give the march the coverage it merited. It downplayed the event, just like the rest of the mainstream media.

The fire department, who do have business estimating i.e. it is their job, put the number at 70,000. They have no stake in whether the number is large or small, but they do need to be close.

I have a friend whose doctor wanted to charge his clients $150/month. He'd take care of all her family's routine medical care. This was a great arrangement, but it wasn't legal due to govt regulations.
I know an employer who wanted to offer a great insurance solution (too complex to explain here). His employees were excited about it. It wasn't legal due to govt regulations.
The govt is already preventing us from choosing creative solutions we want.

Those regulations sound like they were written by the insurance lobby, and I would gladly repeal that specific point, I think what a doctor and a patient work out is 100% their business. I would gladly attach that to the current bill.

Govt restrictions absolutely affect price.
For example, regulations in some states make it impossible for people to buy catastrophic insurance, which forces them to buy more expensive coverage they don't want .
Maybe catastrophic coverage is right for them. If a company is willing to offer it, they should be able to buy it.
Govt mandates have eliminated a lot of choice, which put buyers and sellers in straitjackets and raised prices. Then they say there's a crisis and govt must take over.

Catastrophic insurance is useless, it's taxing you more to use services you've already paid for. Maybe it's right for the wealthy but I'm a 24 year old student who works full time, that kind of insurance would be a waste of my money. Catastrophic insurance is an option chosen by many young people. You pay for routine medical care and your insurance protects you if you face a catastrophic illness. Govt mandates now frequently prevent insurance companies from offering this.
The mainstream media is not covering the rationing, long waits, and other problems that come along with govt-run health care. Without competition, there's no incentive to provide top-notch service.

When private insurance is forced to compete for my business, they will care because if I take my business elsewhere, they will go out of business. That's why health insurance should be as competitive and portable as car insurance.
Right now, the health insurers don't compete for our business, but for our employers' and too many govt mandates prevent innovation.
