You need a firewire card and you can then use windows movie maker... I've got this camera as well and works great now. I have vista and works fine but you need a firewire card first other wise it's to slow. Don't use the usb port, to slow.
No a firewire card, the cable normally comes with it. Most computers already have the card built in.... but mine didn't so I had to buy one. Search firewire 64.
u can't make it "less" widescreen or fullscreen. there's 2 options: 16:9 or 4:3. 16:9 is true widescreen and 4:3 is normal. the options are in the "basic settings" screen of the main menu
tpstbone- you probably already returned the GS39, but some tweaking with the aperature opening and the shutter speeds can get you better results....worked for me!
What program are u using to transfer films from camera to computer?

I have same camera. How can i use it on web camera messenger?
Danzell22 3 years ago
Again use a firewire card, web cam you can use the USB 2.0 port but only for web cam, not good for transferring data.
saltan2 3 years ago
so u cant just use a usb like a normal camera?
bodom1984 2 years ago
You can but it makes the quality rubbish and the sound is delayed by about half a second so it puts it out of sink.

Don't get one if you have windows vista. There are no drivers around to run it.

awesome, I'm ordering this as well

If you have vista then look at getting something else.
saltan2 4 years ago
why?
Al3xX256 3 years ago
ok was a mission to find a driver to get it running but I've sorted that now. But you need to hve a firewire card and you're sweet.

Happy to say all I needed was a firewire card as this camera produces high quality images.
