But most people, even if they would like to think they'd intervene, in that moment don't want to get involved in another's business or risk embarrassment. Of course, it's unlikely one intervention will get the guy or girl to leave. Simply lending an ear, encouraging them, allowing them to see they are being abused and deserve better can help or influence them to leave.

I feel like crying everytime I watch this video!! I feel so sorry for her and the little boy! I went through the same thing and when my dad found out he bought me a gun and told me to shot the bastard!!! While we were on our way home my dad called him and told him that he bought me a gun and if he puts his hands on me I was going to shot him and if anything happens to me he was going to shoot him!!!! Unfortunately I know of a girl that actually had an abusive relationship. As much as I talk to her, she still wants him back. I tell her she needs to seek help, and the dumb girl does not want to listen to reason. What do you do with someone that loves to be abused? The sad part is, now she is dating his brother while the man is in jail. She does not know that abusive relationships are not healthy relationships.

When you get tired of bein beat you don't know what you end up doin... I'm just glad God gave me the strength to get out. No one would help me either... turned their back and acted like wasn't shit happening. That actually hurts worse than bein hit. You feel like you ain't worth a damn cuz ain't nobody tryna help you, nobody tryna say he's wrong and nobody's tryna help you when you wanna get out alive!! I learned I was capable of LIVING & didn't need someone's help to do so. I was born in this world alone so the only person to always depend on is GOD :-) I wish more would find the strength to get out & know they CAN do better. Controlling behavior is not the best anyone can do... It leaves you dead or locked up
