I understand what you're saying. But I do not think that finding peace through a belief in God equates to being in denial about current events. I believe in God. That gives me some (not total) peace, but I am still very concerned about he state of the Earth. God simply gives me peace in that I feel as though their is an afterlife, I feel not alone in my sadness and I am able to allieviate myself through prayer. I do not believe in God simply so I can do this. I am not religious. Bless.

I've got a brother that is the same way as Yokupe and I don't even bother talking to him about this stuff anymore. I am convinced I will watch a brick wall agree with me before he will. catholicism is heretical and i consider it a perversion and pagan derailment of true scripture. this i reckon is about ur third reply too, and it shows little love towards me. the point i keep trying to make is that which Jesus made in His first sermon (the beattitudes) "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God" (Matthew 5:9). this shows Gods true character and what you should find in someone who claims to be His follower.

There is nothing wrong with showing emotion. I don't know why thats seen as a bad thing. If theres one thing Christians don't do enough, its express there own individual thoughts. I'm saying this from individual experience with Christians, so I'm not assuming. Thats the one thing i don't like about religion, it forces you to hide stuff about yourself.

I understand about emotions. I just prefer (now as a christian) to show it in a more positive way, not with swearing and acting like a fool. At least that's my perspective on people who do this sort of thing. It just sounds bad to me but hey, who am I to judge right?? And secondly you can disagree with me, but I don't consider what I believe in a religion..

I find it hilarious that people like YokeUp and his followers believe that Atheists are unhappy. They comment on what they see, but they can't prove that Atheists aren't happy.
