@jessicafischerqueen thats cope is my dad! they did such an awesome job on this film!! it has played now on the documentary channel and will be available on their website in april for purchase.
I want to see this film, too! Has it been released? If so, where can it been seen? Prayers out to the victim's families. I'm so glad that animal is in a place where he can no longer cause anymore misery and pain.
@ludaswifey101 has played, and will again on documentary channel on dish and direct tv satelite. it will be available for purchase on their website in april. you can also find this on fb I SURVIVED B.T.K. movie...
@unsubfilms Have you got the link for "I Survived Columbine" with Craig Scott (Rachel Scott's Brother)? I've Looked Everywhere for it, & Haven't Found it :(
I have followed this case, and was a small part of BTK's demise. There are things that are still not known about BTK. He was deranged, but there are far too many unsolved issues with BTK and his victims. BTK was too quick to admit to these things, and get into prison so he won't be killed a, la Oswald/Ruby.
If someone has more money to do some serious investigating, you will find some very interesting endpoints to these stories.
Research Fager murders, and the airport where Otero Sr worked
I need to see this film. THIS is true horror. When he tells the story about how he found out about his brother and sister... it stays with you. I've seen another interview with the younger boy from the second murders. It's painful to watch because he takes the blame for letting BTK into the house. He takes the blame for killing his mother. It's heartbreaking. I hope FotA interviews him as well. So far, the doc looks amazing and tastefully done.
We're working on that, actually. The doc is still on the festival circuit - playing at the Slash and Bash Horror and Sci-Fi Festival in Topeka, KS on 9/27/09. It hasn't been picked up yet but we hope to have some sort of distribution in 2010. Thanks for checking it out.
I have followed the BTK case ever since it broke and have been looking forward to seeing this film for 5 years or more. It's a shame it takes this long to release it. I watched the 10 minute video on youtube and it makes me want to see it even WORSE.
Well, to be honest with you, I have no idea. What i can tell you is this - the film will be screening at the 2009 Las Vegas Film Festival on April 11 at 6:15 pm a the Eastside Cannery - Screen 2. I can also tell you that I appreciate your enthusiasm and i am sorry for your frustration but as the person who financed this film, i can tell you that no one wants it out there more than i do. The soundtrack for the movie was expensive and took a year to clear all the music. It's worth the wait...
judging by what he says at the end, it sounds like charlie otero thinks that Rader was either some kind of terrorist or government agent. Like he has a conspiracy theory or something. this is doubtful tho, if he wasnt just some weird pervert then why did he masturbate 5 times onto the hanging little girl
well, Charlie spent his whole life believing, at the suggestion of the cops, that someone from Sr.'s past had led to the murders. Charlie was then sent away from Kansas at that point and did not hear later of the BTK murders, until he was an adult. I'm sure he spent every day of his life wondering what his father had done, and why this had happened, but being victims of a random killing probably never occurred to him. His story is as fascinating as BTK's. I hope that Charlie finds peace.
to the Otero Family: many people might not know this but you were an exemplary Puerto Rican family, honest, humble and hard working. and all that was destroyed by that scumbag...all my love to the surviving members. and you Rider, oh men, i wish i could put my hands on you. anyways, i cant wait to see this film.
Thanks for your comment. i know the song might get under your skin- - that's the point. The song is not meant to poke fun at this story. Rather, it is a voice, which at the time, had no face, no identity. The point of the song is to be Rader's voice before there was even a Rader. It was the voice behind all of the letters, behind the puzzles. The song is merely a reflection of that.
the song they keep playing is in very poor taste, independent film or otherwise. this is a such a tragic story. hope rader rots for a long time, that piece of scum.

This short segment alone is 100 times more powerful, and better made, than any documentary or movie so far.
THIS is how to make a movie. I can't wait for a chance to see the whole thing- these people really know how to put a film together.
