Talking about that video, ireland tend to forget they made it to the playoffs mostly with a controversial game against Georgia and at 1-1 on aggregate nobody can pretend Ireland (or France obviously) would have won the penalty shootout. So blaming Henry is a bit too easy and when i saw the irish protesting in front of french embassy and Brian Cowen the Irish PM asking for a rematch i found that completely pathetic and sad

Ireland should have won that match. They were the better team by far and after france's woeful world cup performance it is very likely that Ireland would have done better... I'm really disappointed with Henry.. i always thought he was a fair player.. it seems not though...

Granted that the Henry's goal in France was illegal, I can't understand the Irish who think that they would have gone through had the goal been called off. As far as i remember, the aggregate score would be 1-1 and the extra time could have gone either way, or there could have been penalties. The fact is, if Ireland was truly superior, they would have scored more than just 1 goal in like 10-15 attempts.

it was a good thing i think. the shit really needed to hit the fan first, so to speak, before domenech was finally removed. it literally had to take a shit storm for him to be finally sent cuz even before the world cup, even before euro 08, the entire french population hated his guts and he was losing support within the french camp player by player. thanks to domenech for example, fantastic players like robert pires and david trezeguet weren't called up for the national team again.
