I'm terribly sorry to break this to you, but if you smoke ANYTHING... That is, purposefully inhaling fumes into your lungs, you are doing them damage and ARE increasing your chances of cancer.

I am a pipe smoker myself, but am not deluding myself that I am not doing my body harm.

By the way, I'm not sure how you'd get on in a pipe smoking competition, but with 4 F-Bombs in three lines, I'm sure you'd do quite well in a vulgarity contest.

Since your dont direclty inhale - lung cancer is less of a risk (not my word- I have read it in some med journal). But I cant seem to find anything on Pipe tobbacco and heart disease (heart attack, stroke). Is it the same risk as cigs or less?

I have noticed a fair majority of pipe smokers seem to live long

my old austrian neighbour had a heart attack but he said he used smoke 7-8 times a day...rather excessive. I simply smoke about once or twice a week

@TheKeyWestian Pipe tobacco is more natural, the tobacco used in cigarettes is grown with chemicals to enhance nicotine delivery and then treated with more chemicals to make it more smooth and to further enhance the nicotine delivered when inhaled. Also pipe smoking is not inhaled, it is more about the flavor and relaxing versus the buzz of cigarette smoking. Hope that helps.

Hemp lasts 4x longer than cotton and is a much more environmentally friendly way of making paper since you don't have to chop down acres of trees.

The whole idea of pipe smoking is to relax and enjoy the flavor. You take it slow and easy. I prefer mint tobacco because I think it tastes good. I have never taken it into my lungs though.

Also, pipes usually do not have filters on them, so that is another reason why people do not take it into their lungs.
