I like the creeks best.My husband likes walking the plowed fields. But I even taught my little nephews to walk the creek beds and one of the boys always finds stuff too. He's got an eye for them
I found a arrowhead in a dried up creek bed in the central part of north carolina. The bed was no wider than 5 feet, maybe a couple foot deep. I dug it up from about 10 inchs of topsoil and small rocks. Its about 11/2'' wide--3'' long, and 3/8'' think. My guess is it's between 6000 B.C. thru the time of Christ old. A treasured find. Good luck with your finds.
Well, I am just back in from the heat after about 3.5 hours of walking a gravely river, with zilch to show for it. So, its good to see that someone knows how to find stuff! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your input! I was kinda thinking it might be a munkers creek?? I actually have that book ordered & in the mail this week so I can't wait to see it in there!
It helps when people leave comments with ID's because I'm not that good yet @ IDing!
Believe me it was a very hard decision but the sky was growing very storm like & the wind was gusting very hard & I guess it's like if you go to a casino & you leave when your on top, well I went back picked up where I left off & NOTHING! That was the hardset part. lol

I live in one of the most artifact rich areas in America and cannot creek hunt for anything. I get so cross-eyed it isn't funny.
