  • I love get smart. It was saturday when don adams died.

  • Its sad that he is dead

  • He looks like Ben Bailey from cash cab

  • A genuinely funny guy .. from a golden age .

  • I'm 13, and therefore I didn't know who Don Adams was when he was alive... But I know of him now, and he is an inspiration to me. I'd much rather watch Get Smart or Inspector Gadget than any of the other crap that's on TV these days. RIP, Don. You live on in the hearts and minds of everyone........ Would you believe only the awesome ones?

  • God Bless

  • Served in the Marines in Guadacanal in WWII.

  • He did live to be 100.

    Would you believe, 82?

  • @UncleMikeNJ I think you mean 86

  • @janderson2000 No, 82 was his age when he died. If he HAD lived to be 86 years old, that would have been a great story.

  • @UncleMikeNJ you're right. that would have been cosmically awesome if he did live another 4 years

  • @janderson2000 Missed it by that much!!! haha RIP Mr Adams

  • how did he die

  • @GTA4321WE . He died from a Lung infection. and is buried in Hollywood

  • Too bad he didn't live to be "86" years old. I sure loved this actor. He was one of the best!!!!!

  • Dr. Claw has you now inspector gadget lol, just joking.

  • i like this video since he has that voice we're familiar with since 1983.

  • there's the guy behind the cartoon "inspector gadget"

  • There Will Never Ever Be Another White Brother Like Him! Seemingly So Dumb That He Made Himself LOOK SMART! The Actor Of My Desire! If There Had Been A Negro Takeoff Of Get Smart I Would Have Been Honored To Play THE NEGRO AGENT 86! What Fun I Could HAve HAd And It Definitely Would HAve Been Done OUT OF MY RESPECT FOR THE GREATEST NON SECRET AGENT OF ALL TIMES!

  • @OGSoldier4God

    lmao..you are correct OGSoilder4GOD

  • What are the spots on Dons face ?

  • @bluediver2 You get them at your 80th birthday.

  • smart mouth white trash go put your earrings on your nose

  • I believe he was one of the Marines on Guadalcanal where he was seriously wounded then shipped to a New Zealand Hospital for 12 weeks before he was well enough to be repatriated to a Hospital in the US.

  • @binaway He contracted Malaria on Guadalcanal

  • An under appreciated comic genius. RIP Don.

  • missed it by that much!!. rip max.

  • @RJiminez51 yeah :"(

  • Would you believe that Don Adams was the voice of Tennessee Tuxedo? How about a pitchman for the toy, Skittlepool?

  • @SirReal1958 oh yeah - I think Lucy did one of those, too.

  • He's great actor & a great comedian. I've saw his film Get Smart & Agent 99,it was a very funny film. He's really going to be miss..."God" bless u Adam, wherever u are.

  • He was highly decorated in WWII combat-Pacific theater.

  • @TheClam88 Like Lee Marvin

  • He looked more like Ed Platt ("Chief") at this time.

  • How poignant I did'nt know he had passed in 2005 in fact RIP I loved Get Smart

  • @sarahjeanluvsmusik yes they had the script ready so many times then this director would back out and this sad too late damn people Don would have been awesome in a cameo or a bigger part of the movie they blew it

  • missed it by THAT much

  • @KartKing4ever

    comment of the year!

  • If he only can live 3 years more... he posibble be in the premiere of Get Smart (2008 adaptation). Plus, he could make a cameo! But he...you now...R.I.P.

  • @GamesWorldTV I wrote the director and said cant you image in any thing? you know his likeness and paste it into a cameo, or maybe on TV in a scene and we all see it i got a letter back he told me Don Adams estate said no because 99 who is alive didnt get a part they felt Don wouldnt be ok with that because 99 stood by him and think and then kinda cool kinda sad story maybe Get Smart 2 which they are filming has said to look for 99 in cameo and Smart also. Stay tuned

  • Great actor and comedian. Murdered by the tobacco pushers and their ILLEGAL weapon of mass destruction.

  • Get over yourself.

  • @tripjet999 He was 82 when he died. Avg lifespan for American males is just 76 so he died of old age. How long do you think most human live? Only a tiny percentage make it to 100 and most of them would rather be dead

  • My thoughts exactly! :D

  • Mr Adams was such a talented & funny fellow. PERFECTLY cast as Maxwell Smart. And a wonderfully gifted voice over artist too (Tennessee Tuxedo, Inspector Gadget, etc). I miss him. May this classy gentleman ALWAYS rest in peace. THANKS for sharing this delightful footage with us! :)

  • Before dead, he is still joking.

    He is a turly artist

  • I miss Don Adams every now and then. He talked with a funny voice and accent!

  • @cbsteffen Don Adams was actually doing his stand up act on "Get Smart." He was a big fan of actor William Powell, and used to imitate Powell's clipped speech patterns.

  • Right, this is either a close or exact copy of something he said in Classification: Dead, but it could have been somewhere else in Season 3.

  • I miss Soupy

  • you do know this is Don Adams and not Soupy Sales right?

  • I miss you Don! Requiesce in pacem.

  • Would you believe he was a DI in the marine corp., a real good boxer, and a heck of a secret agent.

  • Max, you were the greatest. In turbulent times in the 60's, the free world could sleep easy at night knowing that you and the rest of CONTROL were watching our shorelines and streets. Often imitated but never duplicated. Thanks for the upload. Don at his best.

  • how old was he when he did get smart?

  • 41 or 42

  • You were the Second Greatest actor I've ever seen.

    We miss you Don

  • Don Adams you are the best God bless ya and thanks for the fun I really think Don Adams had it right he was Smart, and gifted with a fantastic sense of humor and class!!! hey Smart Laraby called though and said The Chief wants the cone of silence back !!!! What? the cone of silence Max.....oh a ice cream cone.....got it......ok

  • My Dad and I laughed so hard! Definately one of my favorite 60's shows. He Made living during the age nuclear proliferation much more bearable! - and made intelligence and spying out for what they really were. Great balance between pleasing his boss and doing his job. Ohhh Max !

  • Thanks for EVERYTHING Don Adams.

  • aguante 86 nunca habra nadie igual gracias por hacernos reir adios grande

  • Ppls like him makes life fun

  • You said everything!

  • His voice is one of the most recognizable to me.

  • I really was pissed at the lack of media attention his death got in September 2005. He was a huge TV star from 1966-1970. Bigger than "McDreamy". Such a lack of respect for the older generation. I had to go Online to find out Bettie Page died. And no I'm not 70 something years old. I'm 28.

  • I totally agree with your comment, but what did you mean by"MCDreamy?"

  • Yes I will thanx so much for being so sweet xxx

  • Your Welcome CherStars.

  • I wish we could bring him back I miss you Donny so much xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Love youxxxxx

  • Yeah Don Adams, ruled he always could make me laugh.

  • I hear ya babe xxx

  • I got Get Smart on Dvd,as A Christmas Present,and have laughed til I cried.I wish they'd release his other show"Check It OUT"on dvd.

  • Omg Sobbing here :-(.........

  • funny guy funny guy he will be missed

  • Whoa! What exactly is this???? Where is this from? How do I get the whole thing? Anybody ever hear of "Biography:Don Adams, Would you believe?" ?

  • Check out the Get Smart DVDs from Time-Life. It will be in one of the extras.

  • The "Biography:Don Adams, Would you believe?" or the cool clip you posted? Say btw, I saw this giant thick box at BestBuy of the complete GetSmart series and tons of the extras but this time not with the $200 TIME price but at a $150 price? Is there a difference in the product?? Or was it wise to wait for the BestBuy thing to occur.

  • I meant the clip not the biography.

Sounds like a good deal at BestBuy!

  • @ComicBookGo Hey, I bought that box set! Great show!

  • @Jakescam Cooooool. Isn't a brilliant show? I guess comedy like that can't die, almost universal really

  • funny guy! luv him

  • Funny guy!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Now, that's real talent! Don Adams did more than act, he created a character that nobody can duplicate. I know I'll miss him.

  • RIP .... i guess u wont live till 100 missed it by THAT much..

  • Don Adams will live forever as Maxwell Smart

  • I wished Don Adams really lived to 100 like he said here. Looks like that wont happen

  • Don Adams. Missed by only that much. (A hell of a lot.)

  • Well said, Don Adams, the original & still the best.

  • Funny guy, really miss him.

  • Makes you cry, huh, when you know these legends have past ... such is existence.

  • passed*

  • He used small repetoire of jokes for life. He had previously inserted this one into the second season Get Smart episode "The Greatest Spy On Earth".

  • If it was used on the show, then the writers would have created the joke, not DOn Adams.

  • Well, not necessarily. If you read some of the scripts, including the final drafts, you will often (but not always) find that there has been a substantial alteration between what was written and what got produced in an episode. A lot of fine-tuning by Mr. Adams, the directors, etc. went on, more than many other shows. Mr. Adams' act in material and general style went into the show heavily, and largely made it what we remember it for. Who know if this came from Adams, a GS writer, or (cont)

  • another source, originally. This was a good writers show, but the thing about good writers (or people good at any occupation) is that they are not afraid of input and constant refinement of their work, which certainly went on in huge measure on GS...

  • hahahahahaha!!!! rip don!!! tho he's older, his signature voice is still strong as ever!

  • Dead... And loving it.
