Some people are actually offended by -core, sonically as well as psychologically, so a bunch of people will get involved in a flame war. This happens in melodeath for one of two reasons:

-Melodeath sometimes ventures into metalcore.

-Some people just don't like melodeath.

I know that your question was rhetorical, but this serves as a cautionary tale for viewers
