this is actually the removal of the apex of the root of the tooth, we had to do that because it had a lesion that would not heal with conventional root canal therapy so we did a surgical approach.
We have to remove the tip of the root that has started a resorption process and do a curetage of the zone to remove all the granulomatous tissue and then do a biopsy to determine what the lesion is.

Yes, in fact Gaby who did the surgery did the RCT and then a retreatment after 9 months of the initial treatment,then the surgery.
Before doing a surgical approach it is always desirable to do a retreatment so you can be 100% sure that the canals are as clean as possible.
