Thats the way. You have music in your fingers some do some don't. Keep on touching those strings..........M. Ford played in a group you might have know awhile back
finally someone on utube who doesnt do note for note-just like me i thought i was the only one -dont have any vids up yet but ur my new fav utube guitarist
Nice work man. This inspired me. I don't usually post videos on Youtube because I spend all my time improvising, instead of learning new material note for note.
But I do have a comfortably numb backing track, so tomorrow in the afternoon some time, maybe I'll send you a video response of me doing the same thing with my Strat. I think we have similar playing styles.
Glad someone can ;) Yes they are too expensive, no way I'd have paid full retail for one. Most stuff I buy used, much cheaper that way. Dunno how much changing the neck on a Strat would make, but they are cheap enough to mess with I guess. My neck being based on a 54 is pretty chunky though, might colour the sound more than a new skinny one...
Great olaying, thank you for your vid. Question: your Cornford amp, how loud is it? Can you cranck it up enough at home to get a smooth breakup, without annoying the neighbour? How many watt is the Harlequin? Thanks for your reaction. Willem
You can get a good sound at very modest levels, I'd run mine close to a third on, I think it gives great sounds at that level. I even used it for band rehearsals for a while, just about coped.
Really difficult to lose those little imperfections when you can't play enough as you would like. Also I don't like to play out all the mistakes and lose the "feel". But glad you liked it :)
Hey man, nice job, question though. I'v been playing guitar for about a year, to improvise songs like your doing in your video, do you just find what key the guy is playing in and play a scale in that key? thanks man. very nive job by the way
Hi, thanks.... Scales are the basis for the improv, although over the years you collect together bits and pieces of playing. After a while (could be years if you are as slow as I am) you get to recognise the bits that will work and the bits that won't. Sometimes things just flow really well and you listen back and think "where the hell did that come from"! Listen to lots of guitarists and most importantly play a lot.
mate been watchin your vids for a while!great stuff!!i wanted to ask u what u think about the kinman blues set! my main concern is that it might not be able to pull great distorted tones, mainly talking about the bridge pickup here!so i was considering puting the woodstock bridge pickup! ur advice is much appreciated! keep up the good work
Very tasty and I understand what you mean about not doing note for note versions. I cant really see the point. I've never heard Gilmour do a note for note on anyone elses soloss :) Excelent playing. Nice axe too. Please check my doodles out!
Hehe, well thinking about it, he doesn't always do note for note of his own tracks! Thanks for the nice comment, I'll pop over and take a look shortly....

Sounds good to me! I don't learn anything note for note as you may well have noticed ;)

You play this solo with a feel, I can feel it:-)
Great sound by the way! Nice but expensive amp..
I also own a Strat with Kinman avn Blues, but with a rosewood neck. i intend to replace this to have more balance in my tone.
At this moment i sometimes find the tone of my Strat a bit 'too dark'.
Now that i've heard your tone i have no doubts anymore.
Thnx for putting this video on You Tube, keep them sending in!
