  • Thats the way. You have music in your fingers some do some don't. Keep on touching those strings..........M. Ford played in a group you might have know awhile back

  • great feeling =))

  • How much is the amp?

  • The Cornford Harlequin sounds absolutely fantastic. The great tone really comes across even in a youtube video.

  • Song name?

  • Awsome tone dude ;)

  • 54 MIJ?

  • now in my favorites on and off youtube. this is perfection, best one ive seen.

    Great JOB!

    Subscribed just because of this.

  • Excellent!

  • Don't overbend so much and slow the vibrato down. Good work.

  • Inspiring, man... f*cking inspiring...

  • can't believe i'll have the same strat in a few hours now(with lindy fralin pickups , for the win) Happy man i am .

  • nice job

  • where did you get the backing track from? i'd like to do a cover myself (but i have a slight twist to mine! ;) )

  • Who needs to play the solo note for note - your playing is just as good as the original - wonderful.

  • Nice playing :) what kind of distortion are you using here? :) gr fab

  • Yeah im the same i improvise everything.

    Well played man,real nice!

Check my stuff if u like:]

  • are these kinmans?

  • that was quite nice, well done sir.

  • Hell yeah!!!

  • Great improvisation, sounds really good!

  • finally someone on utube who doesnt do note for note-just like me i thought i was the only one -dont have any vids up yet but ur my new fav utube guitarist

  • nice m8!..what strings you wear? 09 or 10?

  • awsome bersion man improv is the way to go check out my version if u got time cheers

  • Very Nice............Cool

  • Nice work man. This inspired me. I don't usually post videos on Youtube because I spend all my time improvising, instead of learning new material note for note.

But I do have a comfortably numb backing track, so tomorrow in the afternoon some time, maybe I'll send you a video response of me doing the same thing with my Strat. I think we have similar playing styles.

  • Sounds good to me! I don't learn anything note for note as you may well have noticed ;)

  • Why play note for note when you can play like that? Keep Rocking!

  • Is the Harlequin good?

  • Extremely good for home/studio work...

  • Cool version, great to see some individuality.

  • Thanks, I like to get the "feel" and then play around with it, see how it turns out :)

  • You play this solo with a feel, I can feel it:-)

Great sound by the way! Nice but expensive amp..

I also own a Strat with Kinman avn Blues, but with a rosewood neck. i intend to replace this to have more balance in my tone.

At this moment i sometimes find the tone of my Strat a bit 'too dark'.

Now that i've heard your tone i have no doubts anymore.

Thnx for putting this video on You Tube, keep them sending in!

  • Glad someone can ;) Yes they are too expensive, no way I'd have paid full retail for one. Most stuff I buy used, much cheaper that way. Dunno how much changing the neck on a Strat would make, but they are cheap enough to mess with I guess. My neck being based on a 54 is pretty chunky though, might colour the sound more than a new skinny one...

  • It was just an opinion ! If u feel it... I cant see it; but well done, u know the scales and u got it

  • Of course you are intitled to your opinion. Perhaps one of my other tracks would pull at your heart strings more....

  • mucha tecnica y poco sentimiento :S

    corrección sin corazón

  • Not sure how anyone can say that I play without feeling, but hey ho....

  • Man, you're amazing! your playing has feeling and technique, I like the way that you play. Don't hear all those jealous =P

  • Hehe, thanks for the nice comment :)

  • what kind of strat is this?

  • It's 1954 re-issue 50th anniversary with Kinman blues pickups.

  • I like your take on it, very cool!! Cheers!

  • My take, that's the key for me, glad you liked it....

  • That's how I like to do stuff too, makes more fun and interesting!

  • I always hopeless at working out other peoples stuff, so gave up years ago! You got some nice stuff going on too man....

  • Thanks!

  • Hi Guitarbyron,

Great olaying, thank you for your vid. Question: your Cornford amp, how loud is it? Can you cranck it up enough at home to get a smooth breakup, without annoying the neighbour? How many watt is the Harlequin? Thanks for your reaction. Willem

  • You can get a good sound at very modest levels, I'd run mine close to a third on, I think it gives great sounds at that level. I even used it for band rehearsals for a while, just about coped.

  • verryyyy nice

  • Cheers!

  • where can i get that backng track....?I would like a stab at that floyd ditty.

  • There are few versions kicking about, I think mine was using the Total Acuracy CD version...

  • loved it...a little squeak at 1:24 but otherwise great 10/10

  • Really difficult to lose those little imperfections when you can't play enough as you would like. Also I don't like to play out all the mistakes and lose the "feel". But glad you liked it :)

  • Awesome playing and... wow ! what a sound !!

  • Thanks a lot, I try! :)

  • Once again unreal!!!

  • Thanks dude!

  • Hey man, nice job, question though. I'v been playing guitar for about a year, to improvise songs like your doing in your video, do you just find what key the guy is playing in and play a scale in that key? thanks man. very nive job by the way

  • Hi, thanks.... Scales are the basis for the improv, although over the years you collect together bits and pieces of playing. After a while (could be years if you are as slow as I am) you get to recognise the bits that will work and the bits that won't. Sometimes things just flow really well and you listen back and think "where the hell did that come from"! Listen to lots of guitarists and most importantly play a lot.

  • mate been watchin your vids for a while!great stuff!!i wanted to ask u what u think about the kinman blues set! my main concern is that it might not be able to pull great distorted tones, mainly talking about the bridge pickup here!so i was considering puting the woodstock bridge pickup! ur advice is much appreciated! keep up the good work

  • Glad you like the vids. The blues setup I find is only a little less output than my LP, so you shouldn't have any problems I would say.

  • pretty nice tone.. suits the song.

  • Nice playing Byron..You have a very nice touch..Keep those videos coming..Enjoying them immensely....:)

  • Why thank you, glad to continue whilst you folks like the vids....

  • Hi master, that was awesome agein!

  • It was really nice!I like it! Check out my shining blues!

  • hi mate superb playing very nice

  • Wow, very nice improvisations. Keep the videos coming!!

  • Thanks again! Yep will do, I have a few tracks in mind to do, just need the inspiration to come!

  • Very tasty and I understand what you mean about not doing note for note versions. I cant really see the point. I've never heard Gilmour do a note for note on anyone elses soloss :) Excelent playing. Nice axe too. Please check my doodles out!

  • Hehe, well thinking about it, he doesn't always do note for note of his own tracks! Thanks for the nice comment, I'll pop over and take a look shortly....
