Teddy Roosevelt wanted a greater distribution of wealth, progressive taxation, unionization of labor, and stressed obligation of the wealthy to use their wealth in public interest. It's a shame that most Christians don't share his views.
It's amazing how many people call themselves Christian and dont even know what the word means. If your ashamed of your country then leave for a better freeer place. If this wasnt the greatest freest Country on Earth you wouldnt even have the chance to be so shameful. And disrespectful to your History.God Bless this Bible and God Bless America!!!
Tens of thousands have been sold already and its only been availalbe for one month. Thomas Nelson just began their second printing. Finally, people are learning the truth about the faith of our Founding Fathers and the indisputable first-hand evidence of how this nation was founded on biblical principles!
This is one of the most offensive things I have ever seen. On behalf of all Christians, I would like to apologize -especially to those who have been oppressed by such religious nationalism -that we would produce something so shameful.
This Bible shows some of the good, but what about all the awful things we have done as a country? What about the Native Americans we slaughtered? What about Slavery? I say these things to show that we are a country that has good, and bad, on it's record, like all other countries. The point is, God loves ALL of humanity. One of the hugh messages of the Gospel was reconciliation, the fact that the Body of Christ, God's Church, breaks down national borders, not reenforces them.
And you probably believe in a one world Gov. to. Get a grip! If your not so up on the History of the United States and the Roll Christianity played then you need a lesson in History and open those closed eyes of yours!

This is sick.
Mixing patriotism and christianity is like mixing manure and ice cream... it won't do much to the manure, but the ice cream is ruined.
Being Christian means looking like Jesus. Since when has America loved it's enemies, or sacrificed itself for the good of others? America gets rich while the rest of the world goes hungry. The currency says "In God we trust" but the economy reflects anything but that.
"Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all." Col 3:11
You can love your country, but not above other nations. All are one in Christ. America has not reflected those values, to make America's wars and struggles Holy wars is blasphemous.
I'm not criticising America more than I would any other nation that produced a Bible like this. No nation has ever truly reflected Christianity, not even America.
All the more reason to print a book that shows how the prosperity of a nation is dependent on their obedience to the Lord. (Lev 26, Deut 28)
"If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." (John 15:10-12)
the heart of the kingdom that we're called to represent always mirrors what jesus did; died on the cross for others. the kingdom expands by acts of love towards all people. it always mimics jesus; it doesnt look like the republicans, it doesnt look like the democrats, it doesnt look like america, it doesnt look like any country. jesus HIMSELF said in john 18 my kingdom is not of this world! THE MINUTE WE START FUSING JESUS' KINGDOM WITH OTHER THINGS OF THIS WORLD,WE COMPRIMISE IT
The point is that the Word of God was successful in building a righteous character in the founders and keepers of a great nation. It was because of Americans' faith in the Word of God that America was blessed... and that Americans were able to maintain good character, both in adversity and with the temptation of prosperity (Laodiceanism)
The Bible is the record of God's promises. The history of America is a record of God keeping His promises. That's a testimony that can confirm our faith in Him
AWESOME BIBLE - I just got my copy and have read through it. Very well researched, inspiring stories that have never been told. I encourage everyone to get a copy for themselves and read it before "judging a book by its cover."
There is nothing wrong with pairing the Bible with American history. This Bible has changed neither. This Bible does not prevent people from being any religion of their choosing. It does not promote idolatry, which is putting anything above God. It simply points out how history is intertwined with the Bible. I read through some of the history portions and found them inspiring. Many important Americans have used and relied on the Word of God. I'm glad their stories are collected in one place.

i agree with "thisthingiswaycrazy" this is the mixing of the Scriptures with the love and devotion to a country- that is totally idolatry, God is for all nations, it says that in the Scriptures, and why the hell would America be better than a different country?
I know it is just so hard for you to accept that the majority of Americans have been and continue to be Christians. The proof is in the pudding! Furthermore, President Kennedy said "our nation has been and forever will be 'one nation under God.'" The Supreme Court even called America "A Christian Nation." You can't dispute facts! Do your homework!
You're right, mrgeorgebailey, we cannot dispute the facts.
We can dispute naivety and ignorance though.
1. Most Americans claim to be Christians. Most Americans are not practicing Christians.
2. Kennedy can say what he wants to, we don't follow the principles of the Bible. We don't love our neighbors. We seek revenge. And we bomb our enemies, in direct contradiction of Jesus' command to love our enemies
3. Do YOUR homework. Our founding father's were Deists. Not Christians.
1. This bible is not about the ones who CLAIM to be Christians and don't practice it, it is about great men and women who call themselves Christians and DO practice it.
2. I'm a Christian and I try and follow the principles of the bible. I love my neighbors. I also agree with protecting our families from evil people that want to destroy us.
3. I've done MY homework. They were Christians NOT Deists unlike what public school text books, professors & History Channel programs try to teach.
The founding father believed in an active God who intervened directly in the affairs of the nation and its people. They believed in teaching the Bible as the foundation of morality. They were not deists.
This is not trying to push nationalism on Christianity, yet simply revealing that America's foundations were created by a majority of people that happened to be Christians. That should be celebrated. These stories of faith and belief throughout our history is just a testament to how so many great American patriots were Christians and followers of Jesus. We seem to have lost sight of this. This has nothing to do with trying to nationalize a religion or vice versa.

WTF you'd trust a politician to tell you what America was founded on rather than read the constitution?!
Here's a lesson for you from a foreigner.
Please show me where god's no.1 commandment is to be found in the constitution.
His second, perhaps?
What about no.3, if America truly was founded on the bible where is number three?
Number 4?
OH number 5 is good however I believe it's in every other civilised countries law also ...
Number 6, has adultery ever been punishable by stoning in the US?
