Sounds great!

Until someone got the bright idea of replacing the water and sand mixture. Why put water down there when you can use it as an illegal dumping ground for chemicals. NYC has to haul their MTBE toxic waste to Tennessee and pay to have it trucked there and then pay again to have it dumped.

Someone decided to charge people to get rid of their toxic waste and it provides them with free fracking fluid I suspect.

@excriminal1 The fracing fluid is almost entirely water and sand, only 1% of the fluid contains solvents that help to clear up the pores. Fracing is not dangerous and it helps the surrounding people by giving them jobs and royalties. The dangerous chemicals are then pumped into sequestration wells under impermeable caps where it sits for millions of years. Fracing should be encouraged since it allows America to produce our own energy and creates real american jobs for folks.

So if fracking is supposed to make my water catch fire then how come, even though we've been fracking in the San Juan Basin in New Mexico for years, my water is non-flammable and all of the crops we plant on our land which are irrigated by water supposedly poisoned still grow healthy and strong?

1. the 'deadly' fracking water is 99% water and sand.

2. large portions of the well is cased and cemented before fracking is done. there is no way the 'deadly' fracking water can contaminate the natural ground water.

3. ground water is present at the depth ranging between 1000-1500 ft. while most of the fracking is done at a depth of more than 5000 ft.

@deepakvarma1987 you say 99% water? ok einstein, how much chemicals is 1% out of 25 to 75 million gallons of water they pump down in erth?! you do the math! btw only half of that water comes back up which they spray in the air (in some cases depending on the company doing the PROSPECTING!). @DHSNAKE Why would fracking "spread to the whole world"? It is a technique for extracting shale gas, which would only be found in certain places, and would only be considered if it were economically viable for extraction.
