the other Air Force One seen, which is a Boeing 757, actually carries the Vice President or the Secretary of State or Secretary of Defense. It is not called AFOne, because the latter is only used when the President rides the plane. I am pretty sure that Condi came before Bush, so her plane is sitting there in the tarmac.

To bigrobmjca: There is no reliable or credible source that Airbus will build the next fleet of Presidential aircraft as no contract has been awarded or even a decision to even replace SAM 28000 or SAM 29000 has been made. The current fleet of Boeing VC-25A are 17 years old and haven't flown their total lifespan as they are still well maintained by the USAF and in good condition. THe USAF could very well award Boeing the task of a next generation fleet with the new 747-8 Intercontinental.

actually, a 737 is a regional jet and wouldn't last very long in the air, and a 757 is too small. The Air Force One right now has very many communications and other techonology. The 757 is too small to hold all of it. A 747 is a tad bit too small really. An A380 would be the perfect size for air Force One. And the government bought a 747 for the president. But they didn't buy it for the president, they bought it for the presidency! You really have to think things over before you post.
