  • lol i am going to make this i make lots of soup its healthy lol i loved the way you flicked away the bone made me chuckle never give up ur talent you have a strong talent in soup making can you make any other foods id love to see more of your cooking btw were can i buy an ox tail from any poultry store as ive not seen any at my local market recently take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • @lou4tea I get mine from a market

  • What is the best kind of oil to use for this?

  • @JadeGrenadeX24 The oil that you already have in your cupboard OR any vegetable oil.

  • Hmmm, very meaty :D MEATY AND RICH OF ENERGY !!!

  • I like oxtail soup, in my country this soup called "sop buntut". Of course its not anything like the british oxtail soup. The difference are use of potato instead of turnip, no flour (its clear soup), add of nutmeg & lime juice to seasoning no bayleaf and thymes, the other are the same. And we don't do the smoothing method.

  • Greetings from Greece.

I love all your recipies, especially this one.

I have to make this soup NOW!!!

The problem is that the chances of me finding a turnip in Athens are slim.

Can you recommend a substitute for turnip?

I would really love an answer soon.

Also, since I see that you're no stranger to soups made of... unusual parts of an animal, I would be happy to give you my version of the traditional, greek "sheep tongue soup".

The most deliciously disgusting dish ever. You will love it!

  • @poisondekara Just add a bit more potato, or a parsnip, or a swede/rutabaga...

  • @TitliNihaan Thank you for finding the time to respond but as it turned out there are turnips available at every grossery store in Athens but they go by a different name so i didn't know that they actually were turnips even though they were around me the whole time. Thanks for the tip though. I am continuously amazed by your recipies. I made the lamb korma. Fantastic!!!

  • Cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool soup, my sad sad student's stomach will be immensely thankful for such a thing, I'll certainly try it out if I manage to buy some oxtail :D

  • Made this recipe for my family this evening. However, I just know - *know!* - that my dad will hate this if I serve it to him after blending like this. So before doing so, I ladled a bowl or two's worth into another pan, along with a couple of oxtail segments. He will surely love it. Thanks you.

  • @JimmyMacJones Cool move :-)

  • @TitliNihaan Just as I suspected, he preferred the more rustic version of this dish. I think it must be a nostalgic thing. However, after polishing a bowl of that off, he came back for seconds. He certainly didn't complain about that fact it been blended. My other guests enjoyed it immensely also. James.

  • @JimmyMacJones Glad to hear it was a success :-)

  • pro tip: squeeze a few drops of lime juice onto each spoon of soup before you put into your salivating mouth. results are AMAZING

  • could i use entirely beef stock?
