That's merely what you were taught.

In reality, the difference between communist and fascist regimes is quite minimal. They both have a heavily miltaristic, authoritarian structure with leaders constantly in military uniforms, they both put the collective above the individual, rely heavily on oppression of the masses over which totalitarian control is exerted and soforth.

In the fascist regimes politics, finance and business are controlled by a few chosen interlinked elites  while in communist regimes a few chosen elites control everything through the party.

The real differences are essentially cosmetic: national pride, race theories, revival of old myths and soforth on the one hand, a fake ideology with transnational implications against 'capitalist oppression' on the other.

It's pretty much the same thing in all the essentials...

The main problem of course with communist theory, with Marx's theory to be more precise, is the 'dictatorship of the proletariat'.

How indeed does one get to a utopian ideal through giving full control of society to a dictatorship of 'proletarians'.
