The best vehicle to come from Mercedes in last 10 years is the Sprinter, and I wouldn't swap my M3 for one of those.

yes, that would be a very close race, however the bmw is 2005 and the 63 is end of 2006? cmon man lift your game, the car is almost 2yrs newer. bmw can deliver 101hp per litre and the 63 can only deliver 81hp per litre. inefficient engine in my opinion by mercedes...
just to update this, as i came across this video...wheels magazine in australia compared the m5 vs e63...the m5 was faster overall by a fair bit, however the e63 was quicker 80-120km/h...so in a tes like this, it would be interesting how it would turn out...but still, would like to see it :)
