  • instead of water, I just substitute it w/ milk and the oreo. It tastes friggin' delicious. Although have to drink it fast to avoid that whey protein flavor coming back up. Whatever, the oreo really helps!

  • @12cazzie the purpose is to help repair and rebuild your muscles aka gain muscle without sufficient protein thats going to be hard.

  • @12cazzie Think of it this way, if you have a building thats half broken, you would need blocks of stone to build it back together. The same thing for working out, when you workout you tear muscle fibres and you need protein (blocks) to build it back together.

  • @12cazzie It's not just a protein shake after you work out. You need protein for the next 3-5 days while your muscles rebuild, so do a google search for how much protein you need for your weight. Don't think that you can just go work out and take a protein shake and then go and eat unhealthy food, you need to constantly be eating healthy to give your body the nutrients it needs to build muscle and lose fat. Being fit is a lifestyle.

  • @BradJustinDiller This whole protein theory is BS. its a marketing scam. eat well, and spread your meals out. Your body can only digests 20-25 grams of protein per meal or every 2 or 3 hours. If your pounding back protein shakes with 40-50 grams of protein your just throwing money down the drain. The excess protein just puts unnecessary strain on your kidney's. no point of eating 200 grams of protein a day.

  • @BradJustinDiller I would take those 3 meals a day and make it 4 or 5 meals. Im not saying you need to eat more but if you want to build mass than eat more calories. It would be better for your body if you eat more often. Try to eat 25 grams of protein in every meal. 100 grams of protein is good enough. eat healthy carbs, good fats, and drink 2-2.5 litres of water a day. water helps circulate all the nutrition you take in as well as keeping you hydrated which is key for energy.

  • @Red40Wings13 ok well its a lil hard to make big meals since im in high school, but every morning i eat about 4 eggs and have a glass of milk and about 2 glasses of water. during school when im in class, i have a water bottle that i fill up before class and drink the whole thing throughout my class, then fill it up again afterwards and so on. for lunch, i have a sandwich that is whole wheat bread, 4 slices of lean cut beef, and 2 slices of hard salami.

  • @BradJustinDiller i personally stay away from processed meats that you would find at the deli because they contain lots of salt. I just cook up chicken breasts on the bbq for my sandwiches. its more expensive, but better for you. You should eat after you workout. thats when your body needs food with carbs and protein.

  • @matthew4892 there is a time and place for sugar. After a workout you want to spike your insulin with hi glycemic index carbs / sugars. Lots of advanced lifters satisfy their sweet tooth at this point with a cookie, doughnut... or you can just have certain fruits with high glucose.

  • @DarkRoses4 Milk is thicker than water, therefore it takes longer to get through to your muscles. And also if you're looking to go lean, or cut use water. If you want to tank up like some big burly englishman, then use milk.

  • I feel like i have a huge disadvantage since i don't take protein shakes since it gives me acne. does anyone know what protein shakes will for sure not give me acne? or can anyone tell me if I'm at a huge disadvantage not taking protein? will i still be able to get ripped without whey protein?

  • @kellydanig I've honestly never heard of protein giving anyone acne, but I am 100% sure that you're at a disadvantage if you don't take protein after a workout. It doesn't necessarily have to be a protein shake, for example you could eat chicken. Although, people take whey protein immediately after workouts because it is fast acting and helps to begin repairing the muscles quickly. And I would recommend revisiting this theory that protein shakes will give you acne. hope this helps

  • @TBFighter10 All I did was search on google acne and whey protein and like thousands of hits came up with people having the same problem! I think if i talk to a dietician at a place where they sell whey protein, they'd probably be able to tell me what types are the best for your skin, like lactose free 100% isolates or something, i'm not to sure haha. I might just go out and buy a recommended one tomorrow, and see after a month or so how my skin's doing! Thnx for your help!
