No offense as well, but u know, the movie was supposed to be kinda depressing and... Ledger won an Oscar so...
Also, just saying, new batman comes out in 2012 and will be called dark knight rising. If you don't believe me, write dark knight(film) on wiki and check about the sequel...
I'll be honest, only two things about this trailer caught my attention -- Heath Ledger's Joker, and that HUGE TRUCK FLIPPING OVER, SERIOUSLY.
The movie itself was the first in a long ass time to make me think "Oh shit, this rocks." Adrenaline pumped, and my heart jumped. This trailer doesn't do the movie justice in my opinion.
With Batman Begins in 2nd Place The Dark Knight takes the top place for movies about batman. yes some of the other movies are good and great but the lines and Heath Ledger and i have to say it the Dark Knight line at the end makes the Dark Knight the Greatest Batman movies EVER thumbs up for this
The only director that can make a Batman Movie is Tim Burton...this movie is just some action adrenaline wonabee made for 10 year old kids... no ofens to anyone but a true fans of batman serial would now what a real movie is...and jack nicholson was way better at playing Joker, Heat Ledger is to depresive in that role
@daraofp MAybe because you mean that nicholson joker was more clownish but both of them were great every joker on an every batman media was great but don't worry no one hates tim burtain films but i bet your point is that you like the retro batmans i mean when gotham is in the sixties or something is that your point??...i'm a true batman fan and i totally get your point
Haha, good one. Believe me, I can´t tell the future nor was I in a complot to kill Heath Ledger. I rewrote the discription and video name after Heath Leadger passed away ;)
heath did an fab joker, in the batman movies i've seen (not anime) he did the more scary seriuos joker and i think a little more twisted than jack as the joker who was more comical
I love BB and TDK but i also love 2 see some blood in a movie and that was hard 2 see in TDK movie and i dont like that in BB there you will see blood not much but more then TDK am i right ?
when the joker blew up the hospital harvey dent was inside the hospital and then we see him walking in the streets like nothing happened did he get out before the explotion ?
and what about when batman is riding his motorbat and joker says i want you to do it hit me hit me !! is he crazy ? why would he want to be hitten ? explain me that please
he wants to break batman. batman doesn't kill people, he wants to turn batman, and everyone, into monsters. the joker fears nothing, hes mentally messed up. he gets his kicks by destroying the world, and doesn't care what happens to himself.
he told gordon to say that batman killed the people dent killed so no one would think that dent became evil. if people knew wht dent had done then they would al lose faith in the good people of the city and so thats why batman took the blame for it.
Kind of. But it's not true what most people say...something like he couldn't get the image of the joker out of his mind, that's not true at all. But what happened was that this role caused him a lot of sleep deprivation, and he overused the pills to help him sleep. So basically, you're correct haha
but it has been said he had some trouble sleeping because the jokers character was troubling him and that thats why he had the meds in the first place... to be honest i think thats pretty beleevable because as an actor to be really good at the role you have to literally surround yourself with the character and even become the character. poor guy. he did a beautiful job tho.
yeah, that's true, the joker was a role unlike any he did before, and he (arguably) put more effort into this role than he did for many of his previous roles. I watched a biography about him once, and they said that he even wrote a diary as the joker for like 2 months in order to internalize the character. It's sad to see it end like this.
Nicholson's Joker was pretty good for the time, and considering his was a blend of 1960s Joker and the more violent version thereof. Really, I think it was more Tim Burton's fault for not highlighting his victims, such as when he tainted bathroom products with "Smilex".
Was I the only one who was dissapointed about the bit where the batpod goes around the joker and turns like that? I saw this trailer when it came out and I thought it was fucking badass because i was expecting batman to turn around and land facing the joker and they would engage in some sort of conversation before fighting again but to my dissapointed it just crashes. Did anyone else feel the same?
a little bit yeah. but what bothers me about this movie is how many death defying things there are. what i mean is Nolan said he wnated the new batmans to have a realistic sense to them. well how the fuck could batman survive a motorcycle crash and be fine? and how could joker survive a truck crash and not to mention two-face wouldve died of an infection within an hour or so without treatment.
Yeah very good points. But that stuff did not really bother me as much as the point i made in my last comment because one can look past that stuff because at the end of the day it is a movie so there should be some room for unrealistic things like that...good points however.
thank you very much. but my biggest issue is Joker. now heath was great and that is no arguement but to me this joker just didn't do it for me. Nolan didn't concentrate on why he is called joker. he's supposed to be a tad funny.
Not really. The Joker from the older comics is more serious than funny. I think Christopher Nolan just try to make this Joker like the one from the older comics. The old Joker is more of a murdering psychopath than a jokester like he is on the shows and on the Batman movie from 1989. On the shows they couldn't show The Joker killing anyone because the shows are for kids. The Dark Knight is more for teens and adults than for kids.
i personally think nolan nailed it. i think the joker was funny when he had to be(like when he was mocking the fake batman in the meat locker) but for the most part he was a murdering psychopath like in his first appearance, the killing joke and long halloween. just my opinion though.
and taht is a very great opinoin but to me Nicholson was the best becuase he was more like the joker has been known for which is to be out in the public and enjoy himself in his own way and be a complete maniacin the process. what i disliked about the nolan joker was the whole knife thing. it's jsut something he wouldn't use all the time. psychopath or not. and it's a cliche it's basically like this" hey he's nuts lets give him a knife!" but no bang gun or squirting flower.
I THOUGHT THAT AS WELL! I really thought Batman was gonna get off the batpod after sliding which would be a cool way to enter a fight. So it shows he won't kill Joker, but he will kick his ass.
OMG there really is a starbucks in there. lol. I LUV THIS TRAILER! it gives an insight into the Joker that you don't really get from the others. And that laugh! I want to laugh just like him. creep ppl out. lol
He died of an ACCIDENTAL overdose of sleeping medication. That's right. Medication prescribed to him that didn't mix well. He couldn't sleep due to a hectic schedule and perhaps due to a heartbreaking break-up. He did NOT die due to playing such a dark Joker, as media speculated. He in fact has said that the Joker "is the most fun I've ever had with a role" and he was able to slip in and out of character, according to Gary Oldman. His death was an accident that could happen to any of us.
I heard that he got so emotionally attached to playing as the Joker, he found it hard to change out of character - he starting to think of himself as a Murder and Sadist.
I've heard that too, but Heath himself has said contrary, saying it was "the most fun I've ever had" and Gary Oldman said that Heath had no problem turning it off when he wasn't playing the Joker; he would turn back into Heath and start talking about his kids.
I don't doubt that Heath had some emotional problems with the character because he got so into it, but it wasn't as dramatically emotional for him as the media portrayed.
saw the movie 5 times by now :)) every time I watch it looks better and better ... oscar film , oscar performances ! Heath was brilliant .. Like the "Godfather" this movie will never die :)
did anyone else notice how at the part when he's laughing inside the truck, the lights reflecting off the glass conveniently make a smiley face of sorts?
well i was on the subject of villains. Ledger and Eckhart where so amazing in this film but, despite his death, everyone only focused on his performance that Eckhart was overlooked. No on the subject of heroes Bale did an outstanding job! my favorite scene was when Joker and Batman are in the interrogation room. Gary Oldman surpassed his previous performance in this one, and Morgan Freeman! well enough said!
The reason imo isn't because he passed awya its because you can't even tell its Ledger its like you are actually watching the joker. You can still tell who the other Actors are the role they all did good but they didn't become the characters like Ledger did.
Not True Bale did an outstanding job at portraying Bruce Wayne. A man who struggles to fight the demons of his past, who questions his morals, and hopes to one day free Gotham from criminals.
I'm not saying he didn't its just I had moments where I was like Thats Bruce Wayne or Batman but I could still always tell it Christian Bale. when watching Ledger it was like thats always the Joker never Ledger.
Are you kidding me? Have you seen Christian Bale in (American Psycho)? When I heard they were going to cast Christian Bale for Batman Begins, I was against it. But when I watched the movie, I was stunned that it was Christian Bale. So kudos for Bale.
Thanx. It really is the best performance of any actor over the last years if not the last decade. His death was a real tragedy but takes nothing or in my opinion ads anything to what he did. Some say its overated by his death and that he wouldnt had a chance of wining an oscar if he was still alive. He should win it. He dicerves it. A great loss for his family and friends. Neither you or what you did wil be forgotten.
THE BEST MOVIE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!! I don't know what else to say, it had everything!! Action right off the "bat"(lol) VERY good! This movie is like none other PERIOD!!!!!
It is number #2 all-time, JUST short of Titanic, which still holds the number #1 position, after 11 years. This movie is epic. It is the best superhero movie ever, I would argue. There is nothing in it that falls short of expectations. The actors are all phenomenal, and even though Ledger was the main reason for the phenomenal factor, everyone and everything contributed...it IS the world's best movie. It eptimomizes everything!!! :D
first off this movie is great and so is Ledgers performance. However if he was alive it would have not raised as much of uproar as it did. Its always the same. However there is still no denying his performance was flawless and brillient.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
i didnt like the movie. Heath was aright. Nothing really to me, but he was okay. Everyone was was a bit boring besides Morgan Freeman. i love that guy. but Batman was annoying from the beggining. the whining and the "oh Rachel" stuff was pointless
I don't think it's the best film ever, but I really enjoyed it (and not just because of heath's death). I mean, I always loved him, so I would think exactly the same way if he was still alive.
You're a dumbass. If Heath was alive, he would still get a HUGE amount of praise for such a transcending performance. His performance is probably the most accurate portrayal of the Joker at this point. Nicholson was just a clown, while Ledger is playing a true psychopath.
Now would Ledger of won the oscar if he was still alive, probably not. But he would definitely be getting alot of praise if he was still alive. Probably more.
Well said. :D I agree wholeheartedly with you. My sympathies are in order. I think that Ledger WOULD get an Oscar, even without death. His performance is THAT astounding. It ranks him as one of the best actors ever to appear on screen. It was THIS movie that really proved his abilities, I believe. The others didn't. THIS will forever prove to be his finest performance. Even at the end of his days, I think he knew what this meant for him...THIS is acting. THIS is the stuff of legend!
First of all there is no doubt that Ledger's performance deserves an oscar for best supporting actor. but as a character all of you clowns need to realize that the movie is not about the joker even though ledger's performane is absolutely briliant you have to realize that the film cannot exist withou bruce wayne / batman ledger deserves an osacar but there is no way in hell he is the best character when you finally understand the joker you will understand that batman is the beat character
Well, I didn't imoly the other characters, I meant his other movies. I found out that all of the characters were phenomenal. And I also know that a good movie cannot exist with every actor contributing. Of course Christian Bale did a spectacular job, as did Michael Caine, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and such.
no im not really think about batman begins...not better but still a good movie. You coud put a different villan in and you would still have great action and visual effects and christopher nolan would still write a good plot. This movie cannot exist without batman he is the best character. There is a significant difference between the joker being the best charachter and ledger being the best actor. Ledger is the best actor...but batman is the best character.

Gary Oldman? I was talking about Aaron Eckharts
Scoonertuna 3 years ago
I know. I was just saying that Aaron at least has you talking about him. No one gives Gary any props:)
hothotheat3000 3 years ago
well i was on the subject of villains.
Scoonertuna 3 years ago
Two face was great all the actors where its just despite Heath dieing his performance just outshined everyone else.
SkyExplosion 3 years ago
It sad because almost everybody put forth everything they had in this film and only Ledger gets full recognition.
Scoonertuna 3 years ago
The reason imo isn't because he passed awya its because you can't even tell its Ledger its like you are actually watching the joker. You can still tell who the other Actors are the role they all did good but they didn't become the characters like Ledger did.
SkyExplosion 3 years ago
Not True Bale did an outstanding job at portraying Bruce Wayne. A man who struggles to fight the demons of his past, who questions his morals, and hopes to one day free Gotham from criminals.
Scoonertuna 3 years ago
I'm not saying he didn't its just I had moments where I was like Thats Bruce Wayne or Batman but I could still always tell it Christian Bale. when watching Ledger it was like thats always the Joker never Ledger.
SkyExplosion 3 years ago
SkyExplosion
Are you kidding me? Have you seen Christian Bale in (American Psycho)? When I heard they were going to cast Christian Bale for Batman Begins, I was against it. But when I watched the movie, I was stunned that it was Christian Bale. So kudos for Bale.
I'm just sad Heath died.
boredguy100 3 years ago 2
You don't get what i'm saying they all were great but Heath is the only one you couldn't recognize he completely lost himself in the role.

Great movie. I like Heath Ledger. RIP
treebella23 3 years ago
Not a bad movie. Pretty good but far from living up to the hype. The dark side of Ledger
Joker does not eclipse the comedic, psychopath of Nicholson.
badbill1971 3 years ago
Yeah, it was far from what it was hyped up to be. I enjoyed it, though. RIP HL

I thought this film was great 10 out of 10. What will Nolan think of next?
axelfoley002 3 years ago 2

This movie is like none other PERIOD!!!!!
aeiou123400 3 years ago 3
Yeah. :D

the scene that he gets his head out of the cop car.. it is a milestone..

first off this movie is great and so is Ledgers performance. However if he was alive it would have not raised as much of uproar as it did. Its always the same. However there is still no denying his performance was flawless and brillient.

i didnt like the movie. Heath was aright. Nothing really to me, but he was okay. Everyone was was a bit boring besides Morgan Freeman. i love that guy. but Batman was annoying from the beggining. the whining and the "oh Rachel" stuff was pointless

the reason why you guyz think its the best film ever is cuz heath leger is dead if he was you guyz will be like o this film sucks
tupacthuglife777 3 years ago
I don't think it's the best film ever, but I really enjoyed it (and not just because of heath's death). I mean, I always loved him, so I would think exactly the same way if he was still alive.
anelehh11 3 years ago 4
You're a dumbass. If Heath was alive, he would still get a HUGE amount of praise for such a transcending performance. His performance is probably the most accurate portrayal of the Joker at this point. Nicholson was just a clown, while Ledger is playing a true psychopath.
Now would Ledger of won the oscar if he was still alive, probably not. But he would definitely be getting alot of praise if he was still alive. Probably more.
Transformers217 3 years ago 3
THIS is the stuff of legend!
shivaboyd 3 years ago
First of all there is no doubt that Ledger's performance deserves an oscar for best supporting actor. but as a character all of you clowns need to realize that the movie is not about the joker even though ledger's performane is absolutely briliant you have to realize that the film cannot exist withou bruce wayne / batman ledger deserves an osacar but there is no way in hell he is the best character when you finally understand the joker you will understand that batman is the beat character
offmt929 3 years ago 2
Well, I didn't imoly the other characters, I meant his other movies. I found out that all of the characters were phenomenal. And I also know that a good movie cannot exist with every actor contributing. Of course Christian Bale did a spectacular job, as did Michael Caine, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and such.
shivaboyd 3 years ago
Whoops. "imply."
shivaboyd 3 years ago
you sir are an idiot... If it wasnt for ledger this movie would be soooooooooo boringgg
Mement0o 3 years ago
no im not really think about batman begins...not better but still a good movie. You coud put a different villan in and you would still have great action and visual effects and christopher nolan would still write a good plot. This movie cannot exist without batman he is the best character. There is a significant difference between the joker being the best charachter and ledger being the best actor. Ledger is the best actor...but batman is the best character.
