  • I came here from the Tundra crash test, let's just say, I don't want an F150 anymore

  • Buy Dacia Duster 4x4

  • But they still outsell everything else hahaha.

  • What a piece of shit!

  • stupid scientists the wall always wins.

  • the only reason it did this is because it has an open c channel frame with weak cross members

the 2004 and up did 100 times better

  • @rcman123 You're an idiot!! Did you even see the seat collapse...

  • Your video is a favorite on Thailand

  • 2001 asses look at the 2011 shut the fuck up cars change over years and how do you owe one this old of a truck pay 2 dollars a month???? AND BUILT FORD TOUGH IS RIGHT ASS HOLE!!!!!!

  • @scott14705 yeah, it's not like the competition did any better that year, lol

  • And they say small cars are unsafe!!!

  • @cesarhidalgo23 All that damage to the truck is energy that wasn't absorbed into your body.

  • @rcman123 what body? :))) you better say boy parts :)) like odl china cars

  • hmm, I got into a head on collision with my 2001 Ford F150, and I'm still here and the truck still runs and drives! You should have seen the Prius!

  • GASP! I drive one of those! Time for a trade in lol naw i wish i still owe on it :/

  • Omg

  • IN the video not said at what speed the truck crashed into wall. You can build trucks out of Titanium or something, but at high speeds it will fold anyway.

  • This is a standard IIHS 31 mph

  • @LVAndrejs You can see others similar of IIHS and you understand all that of terribly bad is this test for the Ford

  • have to be built ford tough to drive ford tough

  • Thats amazing because about a year ago a denali hit the right front corner of my stock 2002 ford f150 supercrew at about 30 miles an hour and barely folded the window frame or the pillars!!

  • I'm baffled that Ford was allowed to sell the F-150, since realistically, that doesn't even garner a 1-star point for frontal offset..

  • volvo c30 for the win!

  • LOL, the fuel cap opens, typical American truck always thirsty .

  • that's just terrible, that is no where near safe.

  • @mycrimsonregrets try crash a honda or toyota into a tree

  • @HyperSTAND sorry, don't have any laying around, but if one wanders into my yard i will give that a try.

  • @HyperSTAND would also like to point out that the 2001 toyota tundra performed much better than the ford did.

  • @mycrimsonregrets Took 3 year didnt they? Still Toyota Tundra 2001 is still a small size truck ... which only compare to Ford Ranger...2004 ford f150 did better than 2007Toyota Tundra

  • @HyperSTAND no, this appears to be the 2001 ford f-150 and even if it is the 99, the 2001 did every bit as terrible. you might want to do a little more research before stating facts, the tundra is a full sized pickup just like the f-150. you must be thinking of the tacoma which was considered compact pickup until it was reclassified. the passenger compartment on the 2001 f-150 crumpled in a very dangerous way and is a death trap. the 2006 f-150 performed very well on this test.

  • @mycrimsonregrets it from 1997-2003....Model...

  • Not sure whats worse China made cars or Ford trucks lol... I'm sure this is just a bad model year.

  • @RcriderST185 Talk for your self. I dont think the european or Japan have a truck to compete with f150 during 1998. Japan only have mini Tacoma..

  • my f-150 saved my life

  • Built Ford tough!

  • @farfrompukin1974 I hope that was sarcasm...

  • Check out the crash test videos of the same year of Toyota trucks. Performed much better!

  • @jchasp ...Toyota tacoma compete with ford ranger not this Fool..

  • @HyperSTAND You're right, it is a foolish truck! The smaller Tacoma still out performs the larger Ford in safety!

  • @jchasp It made from same material just with more power engine ... Try make a tacoma crash with a F150 Let see who tough :P

  • hey guys, nobody stated how fast this truck is moving... it could be a 55mph test at 120fps and you could never tell the difference...

  • this test is done at 40 mph

  • MY 13 YEARS OLD VOLVO IS MUCH SAFER THAN THIS O_o

  • Well its a Ford, thats what we expect

  • Oh and the whole reason behind this crash test being so bad is because its has no pillars in the cab due to it having 4 doors .

  • Comment removed

  • I crashed this car. It didn't look quite like this though.

  • Screw saftey. Mine runs fantastic still not a fan of ford but this one has given me 0 problems.

  • @LoveMyAcuraLegend Until you crash and kill everyone in the car with you including yourself. I'm not taking that risk. These test are way more realistic then the government and manufacture tests.

  • That's where the "Ten Cent Ford" came from...

  • Stop With The Trolling Of Ford Go To IFH Or Something Like That Their Website You Can See What They About These Test Of Different Cars Trucks It Show All The Information And Score Stupid Fat Think You No It All TROLLS Get Some Facts Before u Troll

  • why is this still the top video of my search, it's really old...

  • I want to know the speed. Usually tests are done at 35kph or 35mph, for all we know this could be 60mph.. If that is the case well then this truck did pretty good considering its hitting an immovable object. Could you imagine a car?

  • Good thing I saw this vid before buying.

  • I think this model was made to compete in the chinese market. Also a perfect gift for your mother in law.

  • One thing that pisses me off is that the crash testers never display the speed!

Is this 10mph? 60mph? most people would bitch about how, "oh it was only doing 40 when it crashed..." Bullshit I've been in a crash involving this model of ford and police were able to estimate 55mph. The truck was at least 6 feet shorter

  • @Babypunter117 yea same here but i was goin 60mph in an 89 F-150 and barely any injuries at all for me and my dad exept i got a sore nect and my dad got a bum knee.

  • @Babypunter117 There's a video where they did a test comparing 4 trucks. guess what ford was the worst and toyota was the best. Surprising? NO!

  • @warzdune how is Toyota relevant to this conversation? Ford is American made and is made to do real work not to be confused as a rice hauler

  • @Babypunter117 You're right ford has nothing on toyota my bad. Toyota was made to abused and ridden off road while ford was made to run on asphalt and little mud puddles. It couldn't even do that right from the looks of it.

  • @warzdune unless you have a video proving this statement your just another Toyota fan boy

  • @Babypunter117 american made is no guarantee of quality in the 21st century, in many ways its starting to mean the opposite.

  • i crashed my f250 last week u.u

  • f150 is an idiot's vehicle. unfortunately because it is heavy others suffer their stupidity in a collision.

    same with socalled SUVs

  • @FatRedneckTerrorist ford = fucked over rebuilt dodge

  • it is suppose to fold.. You dumb asses

  • @xXcursedead5Xx Are you retarded? You think the PASSENGER CAGE is supposed to fold? The front is supposed to be a crumple zone, which absorbs the impact, so the passenger cage doesn't have to fold for compensation. People like you don't think before you comment.

  • 100% unsafe

  • Some sound would have been sweet on this video

  • "Ford. Built Tough" MY ASS

  • The majority of wrecks that we work on the Interstate are not at 45 MPH, more like 70,80 and 90 MPH......so it really doesn't matter what your in, your dead just the same.

  • @metalrod23 Most wrecks are on side/back roads. Very few percentages of accidents are on the highway.

  • lol don't crash and you will be all set

  • I'de still buy one. (cant afford new truck, only 18 lol)

  • @MSNIMSM lol i'm 16 i own one lol it kinda makes me wanna sell it LOL

  • @richardsrules do it ur ford blows nuts faggot its not even on the road you will be fine you dont even have your license so i dont think your gonna crash or ever have it on the road

  • @lupa186 hey passive aggressive called they want there angryness back and yes my truck is on the road and yes i have my licence

  • @richardsrules no its not and no you dont you think im stupid richard? it would of been all over facebook

  • Thats like a 8 year old for f150, no fair lol :)

  • Occupant completely safe! Didn't even waste any beer!

  • why didnt they do test on full sized SUVs like Ford Expedition and Chevy Tahoe/Suburban?

  • and nobody metnions the speed.

  • @fatharmonix the same as any other car, 64 kph.

  • @fatharmonix All these tests are done at 40MPH.........

  • You guys are right, the whole front end and cab does collapse entirely, even the roof blows off the F-150, what that is doing is absorbing the force of the impact so that instead of ramming all that inertia down the throat of the occupants of the vehicle it collided with, and the children in your back seat, the Truck itself crumples to disperse the energy of the crash out and around you, hence; crumpling like a tin can, at least apearing to any way

  • Comment removed

  • @Hyperponderosa rofl... So like if a bulletproof vest let a bullet goes through it only does that so that your body doesn''t have to absorb all the impact the bullet would have made if it was stopped, right??? All that inertia of the bullet didn't get stopped so must have been less inertia absorbed by your body.

    Thanks for clarifying!

  • @twinprime some vests have a clay like inlay that, when hit with a bullet, will break and shatter, spreading out the force. Youll still feel the bullet hit you. but thanks to it spreading the force threw the vest, you dont feel all of it :) Sort of like how the truck has the impact spreading out along the frame of the truck< i think if the truck was perfectly solid, all that power of the crash would be focused on the stuff inside like the passengers

  • @Hyperponderosa That would be true if not for the fact you can clearly see the crash test dummy getting crushed to fuck inside the cabin......

  • @Hyperponderosa Absolute rubbish... The CABIN is not a crumple zone - that's where you're sitting! Out and around you? The truck itself will crush you if the cabin doesn't stay strong. Here's how it should be;

    youtu(dot)be/1LkAzt_0qIg

  • @Hyperponderosa You don't know anything about safety standards so shut up and stop saying stupid things like that. The cabin should remain intact in a crash, that part should NEVER FOLD! In this video the passengers would have been hamburger meat.

  • @fernandodaniel1988 You're right. In frontal impact, whether straight on or offset, the key points of impact are the windshield pillars and the foot wells. If you look at 5-star front-impact ratings, neither the pillar nor the foot well are affected - in other words, the impact has been contained. Once you start to see intrusion into the cab, either by pillar or foot well, that's when the stars drop.. Some pillar distortion will be 4-star, more will be 3, etc.

  • @Hyperponderosa This is one of the most incorrect comments I have ever read. Crumple zones are/should be everywhere BUT the cabin itself. This truck collapses into itself like cars did before crumple zones were implemented.

  • @Hyperponderosa

Ford quickley redesigned the f 150 in 2004 because the old f150 was doing so poorly in frontal crash tests... this is truely a poor display for a full sized pickup in a frontal crash test. many people have died because of this design. Everyone avoid buying this style ford.

  • @NancykpJohnson you should see the guys car who rear ended me, and ask him if my truck isn't solid

  • @Pyr0Maniac01

your truck is not "solid". It crumples like a pop can.. are you blind?

  • @Hyperponderosa Hahaha. Really? Yeah thats why every single crash test you see of new cars from 2004 on wards all do the same, crumple from the nose to the a pillar. That part is to absorb the impact not the cabin. The cabin is filled with airbags, seat belts and pretensioners - stuff that's supposed to do its job to protect you from the cabin, not the cabin taking the impact. Im just saying, look up on your facts before posting stuff like that on here, thats how you get abuse.

  • @Hyperponderosa You probably drive one of these death traps don't you?

  • build ford soft

  • I have seen most wrecks around 40mph and the front end is severely damaged but the driver is ok.The person in the car is usually not ok.It's really just common sense.Picture the crash in your mind and you can see the truck smashing the car.

  • Trucks are safer.5 die in a car to 1 in a truck according to the Dept of Transportation.I have been on the road for 24 years and I actually have never seen any car including a mercedes or volvo win in a wreck. It's usually a fatality involved.Who in there right mind would think that something that has less steal and weighs 2k less is going to be better in a collision.I drive a chevy but I assure you that the film of the ford was at a high rate of speed to do this damage.

  • @zackk695 Thats because more cars are on the road than pickup trucks you dumb ass lol.. and you say this is a high rate of speed? it's only 40mph. google IIHS for the result of what would happen to your body

  • Wow that's terrible, the whole cab started to cave in. I have an 01 Dodge Ram and saw the crash test on it, looked bad but nothing compared to this. At least mine can keep me inside the cab without being crushed lol ford blows

  • fuck ford

  • Who would crash it??

  • AMERICANT ENGINEERING

  • Luckily it's not Ford Crown Victoria...

  • Too all the ford haters: Your Chevy/Dodge fullsize pickup wouldn't do any better. Full size trucks/SUVs are not safe in crashes, period.

  • they just feel the need for a big 4x4 to "look tough."

  • probably doing 100 mph, foreign propoganda

  • The hood line being lowered screwed up the crash test results for the f150

  • Chinese crash safety

  • BUILT FORD TOUGH! haha!

  • I feel dead by just watching this

  • this is the ONE generation of ford trucks I'd never touch.

    I own a 1995 Ford F150 Eddie Bauer, and a 1989 F350 Diesel Dually, both will be sold, and I'm looking at a 2006 F150 STX Supercab....

  • Introducing the new FOLDABLE F-150!

  • i can imangine what was going through head. my trucks breaking theres a wall ahead ill hit and be fine. the next day the guy has a funeral

  • Is this a Ford? Or is this a beer can?

  • Crash test videos are taken at several different speeds and unless they actually say how fast its going, you can't actually make a sound judgement.

  • @ShenFromTerraTraba You can go to the gov website IIHS and the speed is 40mph off set frontal

  • My Uncle used to have one of these. This video is what got him to sell it.

  • This is unlike the usual ford crash test. Okay they aren't the toughest but they aren't usually as shit as this :/

  • please don't crash in a sidewalk with this, you might DIE!

  • Dummies built tough not fords

  • pos made in china

  • WOW what a POS

  • FAIL

  • The T in Toyota stands for TOUGH

Watch Topgear's Hilux and Tacoma eps. Legendary

  • ford is built tough not

  • Comment removed

  • 1 out of the 1,00's of reasons why trucks fail XD

  • ayyy carunba

  • This is why you buy german or swedish cars. You wont die if you crash lol.

  • yep, well done everyone, you all figured that seing as it is the old one you can still relate ford to being unsafe like this now... LISTEN all trucks of that age were unsafe

and guess which is the safest truck in the world now? aah yes thats right, the F-150

  • Everyone comments on this one because their afraid to see the brand new 5 star f150 crash test compared to the new POS silverado.

  • The guys that gave this video a thumbs down must be ford employees or pathetic ford fanboys who refuse to believe that Ford builds complete unsafe garbage. How was this truck even approved for sale?? Some seriously corrupt politicians earned some extra bonus money from Ford!

  • Notice the cab did not collapse. Vehicles are typically built to crush and absorb some of the impact. If the truck did not absorb any of the impact and just "bounced" off the wall, the acceleration would have been extremely dangerous if not fatal for the occupants. A little basic physics for ya.

  • They recently sued a Ferrari because of the name! How can you compare a tractor and a plane!

    Idiots!

  • this is why i will only buy a chevy

  • @XD241 same here man

  • @XD241 good Chevy Army Will Always rule

  • @XD241 no, the only reason you want to buy a chevy, is because you are an arrogant guy that wants poor quality, and will refuse to belive that fords are good and this crash test is over 10 years old

  • @jaffacake1578 never said ford was bad just crushed like a soda can and go watch thee 03 silverado crash test and notice the cab doesnt fold up like a ford

  • @XD241 ok compare your shity chevy to a ford and we're talking brand new ones btw your chevy sits so its only going to get stuck andlook at how a ford sits 4x4s btw you shity over there will need a ford to pull it out

  • yea ok it didnt do great but its not your going to purposely do this lol there still really good tough trucks

  • That os why you dont drink and drive or text

  • is he ok?

  • POS Ford!!!!!

Although Chevy is the worse by far!

  • Yup that's Built Ford Tough for ya...

  • @chevelle454ss1 This was in fucking 2001 when they sucked

  • @chevelle454ss1 check out the 04-08 generation, they don't crumble like a tin can like this generation. i hate this generation f150

  • @chevelle454ss1 go look at the dodge and chevy 1500 crash test they all do the same thing

  • @tdadork not this bad... previous f150's sucked.

  • and thats why they didnt make that model

  • The facts are toyota just had another 1.8 millions cars recalled read the headlines.

  • Toyota's recalls have gotten worse ever since they started building cars in North America. If this doesn't prove american's are incompetent I don't know what does.

  • @mario102395 glad you pointed that out.People still buy imports because they believe they are more reliable, but they forget that most of them are built in north america by fat diabetic niggers, etc.Hardly the equal of their foreign-built counterparts in build quality.

  • @IwontConform too bad a good portion of the recalls by toyota are in Japan... a far cry from the states.

  • too bad this trucks like 13 years old

  • this is pretty hard to beleive my 02 f150 is built like a tank an is as solid as can be. 210000 miles n runs strong as can be. i dont care what this test says fords have been reliable workhorses for decades an havent let the american working man down. toyota cant say that yet these tests take their side

  • holy shit how fast was it goin?!?!

  • Lol Dodge did alot better than anyone that year

  • @pharettface yeah but thats because its like super super heavy duty

  • oh yeah.. but "fords are better than chevy's" yea.. maybe better at KILLING YOU!.

  • Build Ford Tough LOL

  • @ChevyTrucksRock69 This was in fucking 2001 when they sucked

  • @kmann1994 they still do lol

  • holy crap i own the same damn truck

  • please buy a toyota

  • @TheVideo5094 good idea..... great recall discounts going on now. what a moron.

  • @buyAmerican92 perfect timing just 10 minutes ago the news released the FACTS that Toyota's technology DID NOT cause any accidents or recalls, driver error caused them. No one found Any problems and what are you talking about 365,000 F150s got recalled for a REAL problem, so learn the facts.

  • @TheVideo5094 oh really, and which recall was that?

  • @TheVideo5094 yes, but door handles are nothing compared to brake problembs and sticky accelarator pedals

  • @TheVideo5094 Hmm, Whats the best selling vehicle in the USA? Couldve sworn it was the F150. Best selling truck for how many years. Pretty sure its been more than 3 decades :)
