Hello - I'm back, Well I've lived near Mael Carhaix for 6.5 years and do know how famous this festival is. I just think that if someone famous in France like Johnny Hallyday for example played at Glastonbury the crowd would enter into the spirit of it and go wild.
They topped the bill in Scotland a couple of Saturday nights ago and there were 88,000 people there - it was a sell out and they did three encores
Lol thx, I've lived in Cardiff for one year, I guess it helps ;)
I'm just saying that in France they're not that famous I think. Some bands like Placebo, Muse or someone like Ben Harper have been popular here before being known worldwide, I guess it's different for the killers.
I'm with you, cahouette has not got a clue just how good these guys are as a festival band - the biggest in the world - all their own original stuff and please note they don't end up with Beatles copies to finish. I am over 60 now, was there fot the concerts and have to say they are fabulous even if the French didn't respond to them and I say that as a part french resident very near to you.
It doesn't matter if the crowd were there to see the Boss or not - even the French must have realised how famous the Killers are now. They are one of the biggest bands in the world and they should have get more crowd feedback.
I disagree. The Killers are far from being popular enough to headline a 50,000 people music festival, like springsteen, and many other bands. Besides, a band can be more or less popular from one country to another. And the people in the audience were like 40 (average), you can't expect them to jump and sing along like a younger crowd would. Still, I know the festival and its audience pretty well, and I'm pretty sure they would have had a much better crowd if they had not played that day ;)
Well I quite agree with pattycakeyumyum. I saw The Killers before Bruce at the Pinkpop, the crowd wasn't that bad. And there were A LOT of Bruce's fans. You're right about the fact that the crowd wouldn't have been like that if they played on another day. It was Bruce's one and only festival in France and loads of ppl went to see him here.
I completely agree with CAHOUET! the "old" waiting for The Boss to the scene, leaving little room for younger ... atmosphere so average! they would play another day the atmosphere would have been different
I should have stayed at home and watched it with perfect sound and vision instead of going to the concert. I sang along at the back of the field - people just did not appreciate this superb group. The sound was dreadful live though - lots of reverb.
quelle voix !!

message for cahouette - votre langue anglais est superbe. Je suis desolé pour mon francais.
Well I'm older than 40 and I sing and dance along to them. They've topped the bill all round the world now and had sell out concerts every time.
