I wanted to correct your video. The carpet store on the corner wasn't a synagogue, but the old location of Cherry Grove United Methodist Church. In 1977, they moved to the present location on Eight Mile Rd. Just an FYI, for those who aren't from the area. (I attended this church for 30+ years.) Thanx alot!!! :D
@Snipermaster57- We used to use smoke signals to warn of an impending tornado threat, but the smoke kept getting blown away before people could see it. So, we resorted to sirens.
just saw this video, and i have to say it kind of cracked me up. i bet you folks up there were listening and thinking, "what the hell???" lol. i live here in oklahoma. around this time of year, you can hear those sirens at least twenty times in the summer months. did any touch down? btw, i passed through anderson a couple of years back when my friends and i were on a road trip. nice town. some of the friendliest people we'd ever met during that trip.
The absence of trailer parks is all that is keeping the tornado gods from hitting my area of town. I wonder how big a cluster of trailers consitutes a "trailer park"?
Yes, I was driving on Beechmont while recording this, and was very cose to the fire station while sitting at the red light at the beginning of the video.
in my area in Brownsville, Tennessee our siren policy is severe thunderstorm and tornado watch no sirens, severe thunderstorm warning no sirens tornado warning all 8 sirens in our siren system sound off their warning that is the way we operate our sirens and will be in years to come
I know Forest Park has 2 Federal Signal 2001-SRNB sirens. One is located at the corner of Kenn & Waycross, and one is along Kemper Rd at the emd of Mandarin Dr.
I think there are two siren locations in my area. I think the one clearly heard at the beginning of the video is actually located to the right of my car when I am parked at the red light, but sounds like it is coming from my left, possibly being bounced off the side of the restaurant to my immediate left.

Were you driving on Beechmont Ave? If so, I think the loudest siren heard is on the fire station on Beechmont ave.

Dang, that Thunderbolt 1000T at the beginning is loud! It seems like you're pretty close to it! And it's definitely set to chopper level 4.
