  • Lady Gaga should do a cover of this song! Don't ya think? She'd murder this song. On another note .. this is terrible. lol.

  • @crunkeith

Wow...so much hate for a song. Kinda leads me to believe you like it and are too ashamed to admit it.

    It's okay....you're among friends here.

  • @JonBradinVic LMAO! Well my story of this song is.. I work in a warehouse and in our show room we have the oldies station on so I hear this song maybe once or twice a week. I also remember this song when I was young and remember the video being very cheezy. Good Cheese though .. lol

  • i want to kill that dancing cartoon guy from the begining urrrggg he pisses me off the way he thrusts

  • This video is why "Gayer than Gowan" was a popular phrase at my high school.

  • Gowan, before he was known as Larry Gowan. Loved his originality! :-)

  • Larry Gowan was amazing. If this song was released now, in the age of Gaga, it would be a number one hit. Larry was ahead of his time. Saw him at Victoria Park in London Ontario, Great show.hope he's doing well.

  • Always loved this clip. Did an interview this morning with Gowan, now lead singer of Styx, coming Asheville NC on Sept. 3. A great guy.

  • @tonykiss Tommy Shaw is the lead singer of Styx! Gowan is #2.

  • 19 people weren't alive in the 80's ;)

  • Amicheal jackson that had a few hits lets face it gowan only had a few

  • He was a good spinner.

  • I must bring back that hairstyle.

  • @fhfh2020 My bro already tried. And failed.

  • @fhfh2020 I'd bring it back - trouble is, most of my hair's gone!

  • is it just me, or are a lot of 80's music videos from Canadian bands very dark? (I mean that literally, not in tone, etc.)

Either way, this song rocks. Ominus Spiritus

  • @nonamebrand0

    Nope...

Most video's from Canada in the 80'S were very dark (compared to what was coming out of the U.S.A)

But .....Most 80's video's from any country had more weight than what's coming out now.

  • @nonamebrand0 80's where a dark and strange time for Canada.

  • @MetulManiac fucking lucky! my dad got to experience that.. well atleast 80s music is cominback

  • @stayclassybro You know how the 90's where all dark and paranoid? Canada was sort of ahead of the game and of had a fusion of traditional 80's and 90's culture at times.

  • @MetulManiac lol true, what kind of music do you prefer from the 70s/80s? I can send you some new bands from today that make sweet music like that. Toronto's underground music scene is good

  • crazy dance :P

  • Wonderful!

  • Very 1985.

  • I heard this on Q107 the other day during my break at work. Fucking rocks man!

  • @sync380 Yeah, Q rocks! Kim's live drive is incredibe.

  • never watch something like this when your really tired. I thought I was entering another universe.

  • hmm, didn't believe my co-worker when he said this was a dude...my mistake haha

  • Im pretty sure that the narrator's hardcore Canadian as well, he does the intro to criminal mind as well. He sounds like the voice of Falcor from The Never Ending Story as well. He's very familiar to me.

  • The strangest animals are the 18 animals who pressed the dislike button.

  • 18 people are deaf

  • awesome song this takes me back. the intro is the best thought my friends and I quote it all the time

  • Back when much more music was about music and not an empty clone and no M3 bullshit

  • lawrence gowan is god.

  • ive had this on repeat since i remebered gowan exsisted,

  • Thumbs up for the Mullet!!!!!!!

  • this is quite possibly the greatest song i have and ever will hear

  • 0:20 I think I see his junk

  • Heard this on the radio and my sister couldn't couldn't stop singing this

  • Apparently I used to live next to him for the first couple of years after I was born. Apparently him and my dad got along but my mom always goes on about how big of a egotistical dick he was whenever one of his songs play on the radio.

  • @RandomGuy657 How can we beleive some ramdom guy? laughs!

  • my guitar teacher plays guitar for him!!

  • Watched him in a live concert, in the 80's so full of energy and talent. Constant performance and high quality.

  • I LOVE HOW A SONG CALLED STRANGE ANIMAL CAN BE SUCH A HIT!! <33

  • I was born in 84. I wish I was born 20 years earlier so I could have been around during the peak of this style of music.

  • @Alientank- ya same here.. I was born in 85.. to be even born a decade earlier would be nice.. like 70-73ish.. grow up with early MTV

  • @Alientank You missed a crazy time in music here in Canada. I was born in 1970 and I'll tell you - you play a Gowan song in the hearing of Torontonians of my generation and they will sing knowing all the words.

  • @msm2you Oh, really? I was born in 1998, but still know all the words to this song. NOBODY at school likes the same music as me, so im forced to listen to ``Rihanna`` and ``Other Crap``, i just puked in my mouth a little............

  • @TheEliteNerd yes darling. But in the 80s we were subjected to Tiffany and Debbie Gibson. Trust me, crap can be found in every decade.

  • @msm2you Yeah, like the beatles. Everybody likes them, they DO have a few good songs, but overall, they`re crappy.

  • @TheEliteNerd someone dropped you on your head obviously!

  • @Megadeaf75 Or i have good taste in music. Ever think of that?

  • @TheEliteNerd ITs ok though i know u are one. that likes this kind of stuff so i dont really care i popped this on for a laugh with my friends. i never liked this stuff buti understand how someone could

  • @msm2you the 80s also brought us some great bands but u had to be like really into music. because back then u had to dig for the goods. like the big 4 bands the san fran thrash scene. dc hardcore punk. i hated everything mainstream because it all sounded like some homo with a fuckin drum machine and bad taste. flopped around waving his arms in a pink mumu. was cool note alot of guys back then wearing jumpsuits n shit not cool. with floofy hair snappin the fingers and arm flailin

  • BESSSSSSSSSSSST SONG EVER <3

  • at 4:07, there's a close of the guitarist... he's familiar... is he in other bands?

  • @jameslanbro Yes he is in other bands~

  • Tony Levin is play Chapman Stick in this video! That's awesome. he's like one of the best bass players ever.

  • @796bridg Ah.... thats not tony levin! I thinks he's on the track but thats not him in the video.

  • Tony Levin is play Chpaman Stick in this video! That's awesome. he's like one of the best bass players ever.

  • Larry Gowan is one cool dude... plus, he's (I think) quite attractive, even in this video where he seems to be wearing "Kente cloths"... I wonder how he looks now...

  • Hahaha.. lol.. love this video and the music. Gowan was definitely on my 80's list with his unique wording and beat.. fun to see his video again!!

  • Wait a minute....did that man ever make it from point A to point B?

  • Gowan is like the Canadian Micheal Jackson.

  • @PowerFighter1000 don't ever compare a Canadian band to micheal jackson. it just insulting to the canadians

  • @PowerFighter1000 i know hes amazing!!!!!!!!!!! he sent me a message on facebook i was happy!

  • @PowerFighter1000 I think Gowan is diferent and more important and better than Michael Jackson...!! Even he has a best style in the music...!! I'm from México... Regards...!!

  • @PowerFighter1000 All the talent without the molesting kids. :D

  • @PowerFighter1000

    Er.....No.

  • @PowerFighter1000 HE'S BEAUTIFUL!

  • I agree we r strange animals! We can be solitary or live in large groups. We are not as fast as other animals bcuz we are bipeds, yet we can adapt to any environment!

  • @cherry6254 Or kill anyone in the way

  • After watching this, I have come to the revelation...

    That I'm a strange animal...

  • epic

  • the best music is from 80's and i'm from 90

  • 300 of the views are mine, just throwin' that out there.

  • @Damnurai

    hahahahahahaha! so casual

  • And Larry still has his red strike in his hair. <3

  • Amazing song, Amazing Gowan!

  • your a strange animal, thats what i know!!!

  • notice people still talk about gowan even though this song is from the 80's my goodness how music now is crap compared to how it was bak in the day

  • Ah, memories...but for some reason watching Gowan dance reminds me of Jackie Chan...love it!

  • First piece of music (much to my mom's chagrin!) that I ever bought was the single to this song. Go go Larry!

  • loving the ``ah oh ah oh`` in the verse

  • @guitardudeguy00 i think its saying "go-wan"

  • my dad use to party with little larry gowan back in the day and u larry gowan u are a strange but yet awsome animal !!!!

  • i definitely fall under the category of an animal

  • He still has his red streak in his hair! I saw him with STYX on Nov. 6th. I love Larry<3 He sang to me! ^-^

  • OMINUS SPIRITUS (Ah!)

  • No Burnhamthorpe Collegiate Institute in the mid 70s kiddo!

    The greatest generation forever!

All best...remember..... truth, hope, love....to all.

    Gemma

  • Gowan looks like a flamboyant MacGuyver. But don't get me wrong, he makes hits.

  • @BeyondAkira So i respect your, voice about Larry Gown, and .a man should do that, what i am saying is nothing, just nothing, how can anyone answer a question,or a response,to what u said,It is an oxy maroon. With all do respect..We all have the right to speak our mind, respect to u.U have a nice day now.Oh and by the way he is a good friend of mine, but this is America, the place wear,,,Who the Fuck Knows any more. With all respect, after all a man should; be able to say what he wants.RIGHT..

  • @TheDrive55 he does kinda look like that and by the way this is mutha fukin canada

    screw the united states

  • @ 0:30 to 0:32 " Baby watch this" still kills me with laughter some 20+ years later! lol

  • Another great song by a Canadian artist! :)

  • @devildancer1495

Yeah Canada was rocking the 80's in french and English

  • i came buckets

  • where did all the talent go! I know its out there, but people cant be noticed because they arent nice looking. Who cares, its the music that counts, man, 2000's have gone to shit with the music

  • cte grosse merde!! lol

  • love the animated guy dancing :) lol

  • dude....this music video isn't by Gowan...just because he's in it lmfao. My dad, Ron Berti directed it...

  • @EmmaAnneRamsay who is it? if not gowan?

  • @5henangn Gowan is in the video but he didn't make it...i'm just saying you make it sound like Gowan did all the work on it and made it himself, but my dad directed it.

  • @EmmaAnneRamsay= What other videos did he direct?

  • @vigo894 sunglasses at night by corey hart, never surrender by corey hart...others too.

  • @EmmaAnneRamsay bla bla bla fuck ur dad i have limited cd and THIS song was 100% gowan so plz stfu u suck at trolling and ur 16 so ur arguments are invalid

  • @EmmaAnneRamsay at any rate, have you ever heard of Dr Luke? Because a lot of people haven't. But he's produced pretty much every hit pop song you can think of. So where's the justice in that he gets like zero recognition form the masses? After all, who's the artist, Dr Luke or Kesha? Sex sells bud.

  • What kind of planet is this land down under

  • killer bass...

  • Thumbs up if you heard about this from Urban Dictionary.

  • Over played on canadian Radio because of that stupid "canadian Content" law.

last I heard of Larry Gowan, he was singing for Styx

  • @racefan32

If you mean "overplayed" in that it overexposed a good song, then I'd agree.

btw: Gowan rocks with Styx, I just saw him perform yesterday...

  • @racefan32 That so called "stupid" canadian content law helped establish many of canada's greatest acts.......54-40, the hip, northern pikes, spoons, honeymoon suite, rush, gowan,..........and dozens of others!

  • @wakaw07 Well 54-40 and the Hip are overrated , The Northern Pikes Suck I never heard of the Spoons, Rush is the only Classic band you listed.

  • @racefan32 It's obvious that you base all of your opinions on the limited radio/top 40 charts that you grew up on! I only listed a few bands out of dozens and dozens of bands.... many that received little or no airplay despite cancon laws. It seems clear that your knowledge base on Canadian music is very very limited. Have ever even seen a live concert from some of these bands that you dismiss who have had careers in the biz?...most likely not!

  • I used to love this song as a kid! I still do :)

  • i have this on vinyl and i know its from 1985 but it seas 1984 on the cover on the back down left on the peach part

  • Funny, the hunters are the same people as the judge and Jurts in "Criminal Mind"
